similar music to Rent

Is there a show with similar music to that of Rent, pop/rock type stuff. Basically, if someone is fond of the music from Rent what other shows would they probably like, in a music sense.

When I first listened to "Bright Lights, Big City", I immediately thought of Rent,

Many of our friends, family and neighbors are in desperate need of health care services and other life-saving programs, but with cutbacks in government dollars , these programs are often under-funded. Now, more than ever, your donations are needed to support organizations providing HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention education, counseling and testing and care services for people living with HIV/AIDS. http://www.aidswalkphilly.org/users/index.php/profile/detail/186643

tick, tick..., BOOM! is very reminiscent of Rent. If you like one, you'll probably like the other.

AIDA, I guess, based on the casting crossovers that went on... among other things.

Elphaba, it certainly doesn't sound like Rent and much as something like BLBC does, but it's still pop/rock. re: similar music to Rent

I third BLBC.

Elphaba, I know many people who HATE Aida. I personally don't know it well enough to have an opinion, but you aren't alone.

Jesus Christ Superstar isn't at all like Rent, but I'd recommend it to someone who likes Rent.

(I am scratching my head too.)

Pahaha! JCSS!!! Omg Patronus I am like in love with you right now lol. Just kidding-- I remember that was like the first musical I really started listening to then I switched over to RENT for awhile. I have no idea why but I always like to mix ALW with RENT and Wicked they sound so different yet they complement eachother :)
