My family was invited to the opening of Sweeney Todd at the Ahmanson in LA because we are part of the founders patron of the arts thing and so we got our invitiation in the mail and i have been telling my parents since last..... when i found out about the Ahmanson's current season sometime last year, and they are like of course you can go we know you love sondheim and sweeney and bla bla bla (BTW i loved sweeney way before the movie came out and i am not one of those weirdos who say they like "sondheim" because they have seen the sweeney todd movie and thats all but just clarifying if u were wondering haha)
ANYWAYS because it is wednesday and a school night, they told me that i cant go because i would have too much homework. but they are going to the opening night of one of my favorite musicals as well as all the pre and post parties and meeting everyone and all these people and my mom doesnt even like sondheim - she thinks that he over does it (but i said jerry herman over does it and she cant really say much about sondheim because she hasnt really listened to him berfore but whatever)
haha that was a lot of side tracking but i have been sitting home listening to my sweeney revival CD with a bowl of ice cream trying not imagine how LUCKY my parents are ARGH
You know what makes me SO angry?
No punctuation, shift key or paragraph breaks! ARGH
ha
ha
ha
i am laughing so hard
haha no I am sorry it was long and tedious for you to read.
hmm.. what a bummer about missing out on that experience. As long as you get a chance to see this production at some point, because it truly is amazing. Any Sondheim/Sweeney Todd Fan should see it.
lol...you guys are cracking me up!! i'm sorry you had to miss out!
no I am sorry it was long and tedious for you to read.
You can edit your post to make it easier and less tedious to read. Then, perhaps, we can share your rage for the right reasons.
(yawn)
Thank GOD my folks took me to see everything. They even took me to see THE EXORCIST when it opened in 1973... and I was 8 years old.
Geez... to be cursed with parents like yours.
My folks made sure I didn't miss out on ANYTHING, regardless if it were a school night or not. They left it up to me to make sure all my homework was done, etc.
Your parents are right. Judging by your post, you SHOULD be studying.

It might have not been well written, but you didn't have to read it.
I'm sorry that you had to miss out. It sounds awesome.
It might have not been well written, but you didn't have to read it.
I didn't read it. I saw all I needed to see.
Darling if this is your BIGGEST problem, you better get on your knees and thank the Virgin Mary.
Or better still, go rent "OT: Our Town" a documentary on the lives of high school children who probably live 30 minutes away from you.
It might give you some much needed perspective.
okay Lizzie, that girl with the Lexus...I swear. If I were her dad, she would be on the first plane to military school. straighten that biznitch out!
By the way.. DID you finish your homework?
Sssh. She's still working on it. She hasn't posted here in a while...Children's Television Workshop books are hard!
There has to be a way that they will let you.....
It happened tonight.
Watch the DVD (Lansbury ) a better production.
I really can't stand how high and mighty, snotty and condescending everyone is on here! Jeez people! No one is perfect! Who cares if she didn't use punctuation. And why are so many of you talking DOWN to her? You don't know this person! I'm tired of this on all of these boards.
Go ahead... attack me!

^Well to be fair Here I Am most reasonable parents would not allow their children extra-cirricular treats if they cannot do the basics like their homework. It may suck but it is totally fair.
i agree. i mean, if you don't like the grammar, just don't read it. it's not necessary to shove it in someone's face and then make jokes about them right in their thread.
people in these message board really can be rude. i don't get why it happens in every thread. someone always has to get on someone else's case for whatever stupid reason.
she never said it wasn't fair. she's not saying her parents are terrible or anything. she's just looking for an outlet to complain. sometimes we all need to complain to someone, and she chose to come here and complain to other theatre-goers who would understand how disappointed she is.
And why are so many of you talking DOWN to her?
Well, I ain't gonna be talking UP to her.
i agree. i mean, if you don't like the grammar, just don't read it.
Please tell me how to assess someone's grammar without reading what they've written.
Believe me, if the "ignore" feature were working again (you can't turn it on OR off), I'd be using it with reckless abandon...
come ON.
first off you can see that it is a massive CLUMP of writing with no paragraph structure or anything breaking it up. that tells you it will be a pain to read most likely. secondly if you read the first sentence of two, you get an idea of the grammar. which is what you did, you even said you didn't read the whole thing.
so good for you, you stopped torturing yourself.
