tanz der vampire CD

Hello all from Title Town USA (Boston that is)! Anyway...I downloaded a couple songs off the internet from Tanz der Vampire for curiousity sake. I actually really enjoy the music. I know most people either loved or hated Dance of the Vampires but how is the import from Germany? Its about $18 for the highlights and I'm wondering if I should pick it up. The full CD is $30 but something tells me the highlights would be just as nice. Any comments would be greatly appreciarted. Thanks all and Happy Mardi Gras.

Its a fantastic recording with wonderful orchestrations. Just buy the highlights, theyve got pretty much everything...Unless you speak German. Then perhaps the full recording would be more entertaining. Enjoy.

I disagree. Buy the full CD - absolutely. The score is fantastic and the performances are wonderful. I have both the highlights and complete, and the highlights is simply insufficent and does not contain all the great material. How can it? The entire two disc set is amazing. I think Tanz is one of the best shows I've ever seen, whereas DOTV was one of the worst. The German version is SO MUCH better. Get the double-CD, you'll enjoy it much more than the highlights.

I own the highlights recording. I love it. The overture alone is worth the price of the CD!

I agree - get the full CD. The music is truly incredible, and it actually sounds better in German than it did in English. If you want to hear some of the songs in English, visit the Dance of the Vampires website - you can still download about 10.

Def. get the double cd. It's a lot better than the highlights.. The Highlights version has butchered up all of the songs. There not original length.

I too say do it and get the double CD. The music sounds great and the singing is so energetic (for lack of a better word) -- it's worth it to have the whole thing.

I think they have the cast recording at Colony Music...I could swear they do
