ok so i hate to post on a rent thread bc i usually am one laughing at the fact that everyone is so defensive. but here are my thoughts.
1. you either love rent or you hate it. either way GET OVER YOURSELFFF (i really mean that in a nice way i promise<3) everyone is entitled to their own opinion, even though i feel haters of rent need to have a bit more of an open mind and look past just the plot but hey whos judging anyone =P
2. on the other hand, i feel 90% of "RENTHEADS" need to expand their horizons and listen/go see some more classic shows or shows other than rent and wicked bc there are soo many awesome shows at there that many rentheads (not all please dont jump at me for saying this) are guilty of forgetting about shows before rent.
3. people tend to get in these heated rent arguments and forget what they are even trying to prove. i mean come on..do you people really think j larson(<3) wrote this for ppl to argue over pointless aspects of it. i think not =D
but anyway....i am a rent fan and im not so sure i can wait until the 21st for the dvd its KILLING meee <33
ps- really sorry if i offended anyone.

This is really going to fix it.
You're begging to have another one started by posting this.

Posted: 2/17/06 at 12:32amI hope you realize if anything - you are just bringing on another argument. Also, why did you feel the need to post this in more than one place?

Who cares? There are SO many opinions on this board.
This thread is really a waste and should be removed.

Why do all good-natured posts in the same vein as this one tend to just hurt the musical's cause rather than helping it?
Oy.

Posted: 2/17/06 at 3:26amIt was a nice attempt at BWW peace, but I fear it has not solved anything.

Peace is not necessary on this topic. There is no war.
I think what you are missing here is the fact that this is what message boards are for: showing off your opinion. The fact is, a lot of people join message boards or blog rings just to argue their case. That's the fun of it.
Plus there are "heated" arguments over many more shows than Rent. So the solution is, in the words of some corny idiot, "if you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen". There are plenty of fun topics that involve no stress or argument that take place on this board. Stick to those.
And I really don't think anyone here is going to get over themselves because you asked them to.

People would take you much more seriously if you would:
1. Use capital letters.
2. Do not shorten "because" to bc. It's not that hard to type it out, I promise.
3. Yourself only needs one f. We get your point.
4. Again, do not shorten "people" to ppl.
5. Don't call him "J Larson", it's just annoying.

I don't know what thread you've been reading, but I feel that on this particular board, the people that know RENT actually do know many other shows. I'm actually quite impressed with the knowledge on here. And 90% is quite a large amount of people and an estimate that really has no basis. Oh, I am so tired of these threads.

*headdesk* Thanks for the cushion, WRQ.
You shouldn't lump all of the RENTheads into such a group. Most of them (including myself) are actually quite into other shows.
P.S. Do you think "J Larson" really would appreciate the fact that you can't even type out "Jonathan"?

Posted: 2/17/06 at 1:41pmI don't care if it's Nobel Prize worthy prose, the second ANYBODY types the word "ppl" I ignore what they have to say. It is quite possibly the most annoying abbreviation known to man.

No matter what you do, whatever title you give this type of thread, the outcome will always be the same.
Please people don't even try to post things to prove a point.
Post things for discussions that people enjoy replying to.
