TITLE OF SHOW. ALWAYS.
[title of show]. It may be, "oh we're so smart" humor, but it is still hilarious.

Tale of two cities!! I saw a preview the other day with friends.. it blew us all away! We were all so moved and can't wait to see it again..
[title of show]
Go for Two Cities. Best new show I have seen in a long time.
Oddly enough, I was in this exact predicament three days ago. I chose Tale of Two Cities and do not regret the decision.
10th row will be PERFECT for you...any closer and you might miss some of the set pieces because they are just THAT big.
They are both questionable choices at best.
That is like asking if you should eat rusty nails or a box of rocks for dinner.
Pick Tale of Two Cities if you want to one day say "I was one of the few people who saw that flop that closed in a month."
Pick title of show if you like the sound of hearing your money get flushed down a dirty toilet.

Ok here's the easy way of doing this. I am AVID [title of show] fan! I also like the big, epic musicals like Tale of Two Cities. So it comes down to a simple question:
Do you want to see a small, simple, heart-filled show or do you want to see a big sweeping 2.5 or 3 hour musical?
It's a personal taste thing. I would say you couldn't go wrong with either. Do I show some favoritism to [tos], HELL YEAH! But I'm going to a preview of TOTC this coming week as well. I can't wait to see it!
So don't let people tell you something sucks. Unless of course it's something like..."The Capeman" or something. *cue the Paul Simon fans stoning me* Judge for yourself! There is a discount code for [tos] on playbill. As well as TOTC. Use them so you don't pay full price. That way if you are disappointed, you saved some $$$. [title of show] isn't for everyone. If you want a taste of what these guys are about visit www.titleofshow.com and read their blog. Watch the [title of show] show. Search youtube for them. They are publicity whores and will put anything and everything up for you to see. I love them for it!
TOTC is bound to be a hug hit and possible Tony Winner. But so is [title of show]. Be your own judge. Not what someone tells you.
Go see anything else over TOS...unless, you're torn between Grease and TOS - then I'd go to TOS ... drunk.
Guys, he's already bought tickets to ToTC. No need to keep giving him advice.
"TOTC is bound to be a hug hit"
wrong.
"and possible Tony Winner."
check that crystal ball again...
"But so is [title of show]."
SAY WHAT????
Never mind, not worth it.
I know. There are a surprising number of people on here shilling for A Tale of Two Cities. Not sure why. I give it a month.

What would you suggest toodarnhot? I'm interested to see your taste. And don't bother with the slamming because I'm not here for that. I've seen your other posts and that seems to be your specialty.
SHREK, 13, and 9 TO 5. I'll go crazy and throw out STORY OF MY LIFE as well. all better alternatives to TOS and TALE this season. even BILLY ELLIOTT (and I'm not a fan of it) !!
"Pick title of show if you like the sound of hearing your money get flushed down a dirty toilet."
So true, so true. Don't forget a waste of one's time, too.

Shrek: I'm gonna wait a little while. Been burned by the movie adaptations one to many times. "Big" anyone? anyone?
13: I'm intrigued! Although I tend to HATE children on Broadway. I always wished one of the students just F***ing shot Gavrosche. I played Joseph in "...Dreamcoat" in High School and I hated everyone of those little bastards! But it's JRB soooooo, I'll give it an honest shot.
9 to 5: The cast sold me! I don't care! The cast sold me!
Billy Elliot I saw in London. This will sweep the Tony's.
Agreed. I predict Billy Elliot will sweep the Tony's.
From TOTC, James Barbour may get a nod, but that's about it.
Guess we'll just have to wait "Until Tommorow" or "One Day More" to find out.

I'm surprised that at the very same show, two reasonably sounding individuals both felt strongly about the show--one very positive and the other completely unimpressed.
Generally, that's not an indication of smooth sailing for the show so observed. A meeting of the minds somewhere in the middle would seem more indicative of a show
that would similarly elicit a less schizophrenic reaction from the crowd.
I don't buy into the "intermission" buzz business. I've NEVER heard a show discussed in negative terms during intermission. A few people might rhapsodize, some shrug it off, but most others just keep their opinions to themselves.
A more accurate litmust test for how a show is affecting an audience is the animation the audience displays between acts. Shows on the road to being a hit seem to instill a certain palpable mania in the crowd that is infectious.
So, far, it seems like a hung jury.
I wouldn't call someone a shill just because there a few people who like a particular show Insider2.
I think that the people on this forum who are saying it is bad are people who have yet to see it. And, they are making a judgment without having seen it.
I also think it is okay to judge a show based on intermission buzz. That is usually a good way to figure out how a show is doing.
Look at DRV in the revival of Les Miserables. The intermission buzz for her was that she was bad. When I saw The Pirate Queen the intermission buzz for that show was that it was crap.
LOL. Are you seriously even asking this. title of show is retardud, see tale fo 2 cities.
Wow- talk about apples and oranges. If you are obsessed theatre and really want a night of smart humor and intimate theatre, go for [Title of Show]. If you want a sprawling epic musical with big sets and big voices, see TOTC. They are both great in their own ways.
