Just realised that last night was the 51st Broadway performance of [title of show]. This is notable since Jeff Bowen from the show famously (it's mentioned on their Youtube series a lot) collects Playbills from shows that ran FIFTY PERFORMANCES OR LESS on Broadway. I guess even if [tos] does close this Autumn as rumoured, at least we know Jeff won't have the indignity of having to include it in that Playbill collection!
It also played for one month 'officially' on Broadway last night. (Aka not including previews)
Go [tos] go!

I love [tos] to pieces, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

that's why my fingers are crossed.
I hope it lasts long enough for me to see it again, but if it closes on a weekend where there's any hope I can make the final performance, I plan to be there.

I'll be buying a ticket for the closing night even though I can't possibly get over for it. Made my first trip to NYC to see the first preview. Loved it so much that I bought a ticket for the official Opening Night, even though I knew I hadn't got the cash (or time off work) to fly across the pond again. Felt like it was me being there in spirit even though it was an empty seat. Sounds a bit crazy but that's the power of [tos].
You, sir (madam?), are a true 100% genuine tosser.
How much did you smoke before making that foolish decision?

I was quite drunk when I bought the Opening Night ticket. I remember being quite excited that it was central in the very front row of the circle. Had to remind myself the next morning that I wasn't actually going to be there, so it didn't matter where the seat was and i should have got a cheaper one! D'oh!
Didn't you feel bad that you were taking up the seat of a fan who might actually want to be there?

No, because I posted on the various [tos] fan pages - MySpace, Facebook, etc - to tell everyone else that Opening Night tickets were now available from Telecharge. Plus I'm not sure whether it even sold out (I got my ticket three days before the performance and they seemed to have plenty left).

english toser, I totally understand your loyalty to the show, and if it makes you feel closer to the show, I applaud you for that loyalty. Good for you!!
Yeah, that's a bit of a dick move.
I think that buying a ticket knowing that your not going to be able to use it is a stupid move.
It's great that your loyal to the show, but there are better ways to show your appreciation then that.
If you're going to do something that foolish, you're better off keeping that information to yourself.

I completely disagree with the people dissing me on this thread - yeah it's an empty seat in the theatre but it's a sold seat in the statistics, and that's what this battle seems to be being fought on (given all the abuse [tos] has been getting on All That Cr*p). Yes, I will buy a ticket to Closing Night and yes, I won't be there (as I live 3,000 miles away). Think that's wrong? Then buy up all the tickets yourself before I get a chance...
Aw yay! Congrats [tos]!
Englishtosser,
The thing your not realizing is this. That the seat that your buying and not using for yourself is a seat that could be used by someone else. It is a selfish move because your taking away a seat from someone who could be using it. I understand where your coming from. I understand that Title of Show isn't doing that well in the box office and it needs all the help it can get. However, buying a ticket only to not use it is not the way to help it out.
why even waste your time with this crackhead?

They can buy a different seat. I don't get what you are saying. It doesn't sell out. I only ever pay full price for a seat. Anyone who wants a seat can get one, they sell one extra full-price seat, ie not only one more in seat sales but it also ups the average price (as I only ever pay full price and I understand many don't), so what's your point caller? I really don't get it

I think that what you did was cool.
Why don't you just buy a premium priced ticket next time (as no one else seems to be)? I think that would make everyone happy.
But the ticket was in the front row of the mezzanine, in the center!!!! That would have been an amazing seat for someone who could actually have been there! You could have at least gotten a worse seat!!!!
