Yeah, if you are coming in from Penn Station, you can get on the subway right inside. Heck, if you even get the right exit from it, you can get to the street right in front of the St. James, which is across the street from the Shubert. I think it was the SW corner of 44th, if I'm not mistaken. And Port Authority is only about 2 blocks away.

I am from Northwest NJ as well, and I am making every attempt to get there, although I know I don't need to leave until about 3pm.

When I first saw Spamalot in Chicago, It was a blizzard. This was during the 2005 Tryout, and it wasn't snowing when I went in, but it was when I got out.

I got Tim Curry's autograph, but half of it faded away due to the snow.

eff Saturday though, I am traveling from Allentown PA to NYC tomorrow morning by bus. 6-8 inches for Sat for PA .I'm gonna have to bring a shovel with me into the city. I bought a roundtrip fare which doesn't look like I can come back to PA tommarow evening

Thank Goodness I have relatives in Terrytown to stay with though. Which makes more sense since I also have 2 shows on Sunday

I know what you mean about tomorrow. Thankfully my grandfather has an apartment in the city, so we're going tonight. I have to drive home at 4:00 tomorrow though!

you want to exit at the southeast corner of 44th street to wind up right by the St. James.

I am too. What time are you leaving? I'm leaving at 6am on Sat to hopefully be in NYC before the heavy snow gets there. But I am staying until Thursday night :).

I'm concerned about Sat-Mon this weekend. I fly in about noon (LaGuardia)tomorrow and am seeing "Gypsy" that night. Then Sunday I'm meeting friends who also are coming in from various places, we're attending the closing of "All My Sons" then going out to dinner. Then I fly home Monday. I can handle trudging through snow. I do it here at home all the time...I'm just concerned about the airport and the shuttle to the hotel being delayed.

Is the snow supposed to get heavier as Saturday wears on?

Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?

now weather.com is saying accumulation is only going to be around 1 or 2 inches in the NYC area. flying in is different, but for anyone traveling by bus or train, there probably won't be a problem.

plus it's winter. these things shouldn't be coming as a surprise.

"But no, I have never heard of shows "postponing" because of snow. (Granted I've only been here 3 years, but I don't think it's common unless there is a blizzard that shuts everything down.)"

A blizzard, or a terrorist attack, or if I'm remembering correctly, a subway strike?

But that's correct, the shows don't cancel unless something shuts the whole city down, which has only happened a handful of times in the past 12 years or so. This storm doesn't look like it's going to be nearly bad enough to do that. In fact I remember hearing reports of crazy swing-ing and bringing in former cast members so that the show could go on despite the fact that some of the cast couldn't get through the snow to the theater.

That said, I'm pretty sure theaters have historically been more generous than usual about allowing ticket exchanges when there's been really bad weather. I'd look to ticketmaster/telecharge for the best info about any decisions that are made.

Whoever saw that 1-2 inch figure on the weather channel, I saw that too - but than it was followed (at least in my Bronx forecast) by a 5-8 inch total in the evening. Tricky!
