I sat through the charmless revival of "Flower Drum Song". Lea Salonga was just playing Kim all over again - - minusn the guts. THe set was lame and cheap, the dance sequences too long and the book clumsy. I don't regret seeing it - - it's paying full price that really got to me!

I saw Dance of The Vampires and it didn't do very well. It wasn't a favorite of mine but I hold that the draw bridge was incredible as well as the lovely sky backdrop (the clouds moved along the back and it was really beautiful.). -Penny

UPDATE- Oh and when the main guy and the vampire are dancing infront of the mirror!!! There was a lone guy standing in the "mirror" doing all the choreography perfectly on his own. That was so awesome!

I saw the national tour of Aspects of Love based on the Toronto minimalist staging and it remains my favorite Lloyd Webber show and one of my all-time favorite musicals. It was a gorgeous production.

"Harold and Maude" was not a musical. It was a play based on the movie, starring Janet Gaynor.

I saw Dance of the Vampires the same night as Mayor Ruddy G.
Saw Taboo too.
Personally loved them both.

The Papermill playhouse in Jersy is putting Harold and Maude up next year with Estelle Parsons (I 99% certain it with her). O fcourse it's promo material but you would think it wa a big hit when it ran on broadway...

Actually, the Paper Mill's "Harold and Maude," with Estelle Parsons, is being touted as an original musical--so it is not a revival of the straight play starring Janet Gaynor (although they may be using it as the basis for the book). I won't even try and guess what Parson's singing voice is like--but I will be there to see this thing!

Dance of the Vampires shouldn't have failed. It was an awesome musical, in Vienna, but Michael Crawford destroyed it
