Posted: 9/4/04 at 11:28amWhoever started this post, thank you. you are very wise lol. everything u said was true. there was not one piece of false information in there. I also loved how u said "u dont want this to start anything"...very smart, although as u can see people dont always listen lol. Im a Wicked fan. In my opinion, it was the greatest show Ive seen so far. Thats just my opinion though. For months we have been trying to tell people why or why not to like it. Why dont people who like wicked...like it. and those who dont....dont, and dont open a wicked thread if its just gointo make u mad. i mean u must know by now people arent going to stop posting about it. this is called broadway world....wickeds on broadway lol. anyway thanks again for this post. love u all :)

Posted: 9/4/04 at 11:29amIt's probably the most bashed because it's the most talked about and there are as many people who don't care for or about the show as there are people who think it's the best thing they've seen or will ever see.

Posted: 9/4/04 at 11:33amFae - I applaud your very mature and accurate speech. Perhaps there are too many obsessed Wicked fans, but maybe that is the only show they've been fortunate enough to see. I think it is a shame that we feel we mus constantly belittle those who have an opinion different than our own. I hope everyone can really take what you said to heart. Or atleast the Wicked fans who feel like they are being bashed. Most of all I hope they realize they should be proud to love a show, and not to listen to those who would only spout negativity.

Posted: 9/4/04 at 11:33amWell would you like to have Wicked banned from this board? I mean it is on Broadway. I need to cool off, this is my 1st argument on the board.

Posted: 9/4/04 at 11:35amAre you aiming that kneejerk response at me? If so, don't be so bloody ridiculous. Read my signature, for one thing.

FAE!! that was so nice of you to write that. thank you very much for that. hah i sound almost like a mini-me of you haha. i enjoyed annie when i was little and grease (i am only 15 now) but instead of little shop i like wicked. and i have started to get into a chorus line since doing it in dance. yea that was random. just felt i needed to share it lol.
anyways, i understand all the wicked threads are annoying but, there was one wicked thread that actually was an intelligent one. i was really interested in it and i don't know why someone had to go and bash wicked. uggghhh please.. keep your opinion to yourself.. and if the wicked threads get to annoying just post a NICE reply. be calm about it. ask nicely to maybe cut down or create just one thread.. idk

Thank you Sam !!! I totally agree, and I have made this point before. If you are not interested in the thread, skip it !! I dont know why so many people on this board think its their duty to post something sarcastic everytime a "Wicked" thread gets started. If you dont like the show, ignore the thread !! Simple as that !!!
And Tuttle.... what gives with the attitude? I saw another thread that you posted on while reading yesterday where you called someone (or a number of people) idiots. Come on....

Where you Wicked fans make your mistake is in thinking that we Wicked bashers are being insensitive. You realize this is a Broadway board don't you? You realize that there are thousands of Broadway shows don't you? You realize that Wicked is only a footnote in the history of musical theatre don't you? I refuse to apologize to you. Why should I? Because you have such close minded and limited taste as to only post about one show? Sure you post in other threads but you are in it for Wicked.
Suck it up! Until you limit the number of Wicked threads or find another board I will continue to bash you and every one of your intellectually impotent friends!

I must say I do enjoy the titillation in watching people get worked up over something so trivial. More! More!

listen sumofallthings, the reason i really go into broadway was because i enjoy wicked. now i want to learn more about all broadway musicals. i understand that the wicked message boards are excessive but what you just said is probably one of the reasons people make all the wicked threads. you are so rude about it. did you know there is this little thing called manners?! wow!! what you do is say, "Could you please cut down on the Wicked threads and maybe try using The All-Purpose Wicked Thread." WOW DOES THAT SEEM SO HARD?! ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS BE NICE. it works quite well.
Thank you for your time.

SUMOFALLTHINGS = O
Wicked FANS, don't let these idiots get to you. Someone wrote a post once that read, "They disagree just to disagree because they think that by being disagreeable, they are different."
Actually, they are all the same. And they don't even know it, because they are blinded by their arrogance.
WICKED FANS, continue to love the show, and talk about it. There are lots of people on these boards that agree with you. It IS a great show. And my advice for how to handle the Wicked bashers?
F**K 'EM.

Really? Is that all we have to do? Hold on, I'm thinking...thinking...OH YES. Now I remember. We've been doing that for months now! And all you LiTtLeGiRlS do is post more and more turning every other thread into a WICKED thread.
If the question is your favorite moment from MAN OF LA MANCHA, do you really find it necessary to post in there saying things like "It's not better than WICKED! What's your favorite part of WICKED?!"
Because it happens every day.
You preach on, Sum. Welcome back.

I agree with Matt and Summ
while the wicked fans have the right of saying stupid things about the only musical they know, we have the right to say what we think about this.
so, I won't stop too.
thank god for the fredom of speech!

From someone who's been here from the beginning (and been moderating message boards long before this one was ever around) I have an idea for everyone:
Shut up, suck it up and get over it. I agree that all the pointless Wicked threads are annoying but they're there and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. So you know what? DONT READ 'EM. Don't jump in and stir up trouble, don't be a blanket of freaking negativity and let the kids enjoy what they want.
I saw Wicked -- I loved it. Do I post on every nuance of the show? No. Do I care what Idina and Kristen do outside the theatre? No, not really. They're people too, and I'm sure they do things much like the rest of us. It's really not all that exciting.
There are fanatics for every show, and there are always going to be... I'm sure EVERYONE jumping on the "Wicked-ites" has their own show that they are completely fanatical about. Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.
The bottom line it this is a MESSAGE BOARD. Many of us don't know each other offline, and probably never WILL know each other offline. Why waste time and energy getting all worked up over something posted here? I'm sure your energy could be put to better use elsewhere.
I'm stepping off my soapbox now.

If you had read any of the other threads, most of which I post in, you would realize I neither care what you think nor do I have a concept of your precious manners. Next time I want to be lectured by a Wicked fan will be in hell. By that time you will be able to throw a snowball through it.
And believe me, it won't melt.

Posted: 9/4/04 at 3:27pmYou say what I've wanted to say! I'm really inspired by Wicked. It speaks of a girl who's misunderstood, who always tries to do the right thing but sometimes the right thing gets lost in what people want. I have wanted to be the star of that show since I heard about it. And I found it extremely rude the way those ppl acted so I think you spoke the right words and I'm glad you did because maybe those people will realize what they said was wrong and rude. So Thanks

the thing is the wicked fans are spreading the wicked stupidity to all threads, from wicked or not (As summ said before). so, I am tired of this.
In other hand, I'm really tired too of reading "wicked is the best show ever" or "defying gravity is the best song ever" from people who only knows only 2 or 3 musicals apart from wicked.

i'm going to agree that its bad when you see wicked showing up in other threads, but ive also seen others bringing it up that dont like the show just so they can take a stab at it. if i could find the thread i remember reading it in, i'd show you so i can have a clear example, but i dont have the time to look right now. i've got other work to do and other broadway shows to listen to

Well it seems this Wicked thing is just not going to go away! I have posted in a conversation about this show I don't know how many times. Good show, didn't blow me away. But my comment is about those bashing Fae for her spelling and punctuation. Jeez....I don't know how many posts I see with bad spelling and poor puntuation. Mine included. It kills me that some people all of a sudden become English teachers and spelling bee champs with an attitude!
If you don't like the show, don't post in the thread. If the conversation in a non-Wicked thread becomes a discussion about Wicked, just kindly ask, "Can we get back on subject?" And granted, I have seen this happen and people continue to post about the show! I guess there should be a bit of restraint on both sides. It is great that young people are so into the show and getting interested in theatre. And this is probably one of the only places they can freely talk about their love for this show. To the Wicked lovers that post about the show all the time, there are a lot of people on this board who know theatre inside and out. Take the time to read their posts and learn from them. To those who bash the show, it seems a lot of these posters are younger, you don't have to bash them so hard! In, turn, Wicked lovers, take the high road and just realize that there are people who do not think of the show as highly as you. If this show is your 1st and you think it is the greatest, wait until you start experiencing more shows! Wicked may still be your favorite but I am sure after seeing other shows, it won't be all you talk about.
I swore not to get into another one of these discussions...but here I am...right back to the Wicked crack den!!!! (And that was not a slam against the show!)....My ramble for the day. Peace Everyone!

Posted: 9/4/04 at 4:09pmIt's not just the over-the-top Wicked fans who bring Wicked into every thread, I see the over-the-top Wicked/Wicked fans haters doing the same. Every topic I read, someone HAS to make a comment poking fun of Wicked and their fans. I know they think these numerous (and most of the time, similar) and sarcastic remarks make them oh-so smart, but it gets as annoying as the uber Wicked love.
