Hi! My daughter and I are traveling from Seattle May 4th-11th, and want to see Hadestown along with several other musicals. Will the April 30th Tony nominations impact the number of seats available through TKTS booths or through the Hadestown box office in person? I'd rather not pay online prices and fees now unless that's the only way to be guaranteed to see it. I'm new to all this, so thanks for any advice!
I've been looking for that code too. I think it MIGHT have been on Playbill, but since the show has been selling so well, maybe they took it down? I'll keep my eyes open though!
Bite the bullet and buy now. The Walter Kerr is a small theatre, and it will have [presumably great] reviews on April 17, plus 10-14 Tony nominations on April 30.
Definitely agree with others saying to buy in advance. Also, it's very likely it will not be on TKTS if it sells as well as everyone thinks it will. Good luck!
If you want a certain date you should definitely buy ahead of time.
I think this show will have a similar route as THE BAND'S VISIT, no name Actors, no movie tie-in but great reviews and an "Artsy" reputation. It is on TKTS now as a lot of shows are in previews but this show has already been reviewed and most likely does not have a huge advance.

The Band’s Visit is actually a based on a movie though. “You probably didn’t hear about it, it wasn’t very important”.
At TKTS tonight tickets were $112, I believe they were the most expensive tickets there. So not much of a discount from the cheapest seats but still better than paying all the fees and obviously the number will fluctuate.
I’d Keep an eye on the seating chart for the days you want to go and if you’re worried it’s gonna sell out the week before then buy the tickets online ahead of time. This definitely is a show not to miss though.
It is also worth noting that not only was it only 30% off at TKTS, but it was taken off quite early (according to Ticketmaster there was only a small handful of seats left) and the show ended up being sold out.
You guys will be coming the week after Tony nominations and Hadestown will be nominated for a slew of them. I would get them sooner rather than later.
As someone who saw it last new year and hopes to see it at the end of the year in ny. I’d get tickets now. With the slew of nominations it will get any seats left will be snatched up. And prices will soar. It is the show to catch. It’s incredible. And in my opinion will be a difficult show to get tickets for. I’m thinking along the same lines as spring awakening or billy Elliot or come from away in popularity
Considering they've already increased the balcony prices to $69 on Thursdays, I would say buy them now. I would say that early in the run, it will be hard to get tickets and there won't be many discounts. It's been on TKTS for minimal time, and always only 30% off at $112. I wouldn't risk it.
