wonderful town

I'm auditioning for WOnderful Town on Tuesday/Wednesday.

I'm aiming for Eileen, or a singing role, though probably not Ruth, because i'm not a senior. I'm a soprano, but am pretty versatile, and can go pretty low. I'm thiknking a Rodgers and Hammerstein song, (Cinderella?) to use. (it's the standard 16 bars) Any other suggestions?

Also, I have some monologues in mind, but If you have any suggestions, (preferably comical or serio-comic)of ones, and where I could find them, that'd be great!!!

i think "the beauty is" from "the light in the piazza" would be a good song to sing or some julie andrews song, any song with high notes.

Ummm don't sing the Beauty Is. I think your initial inclination is best. Something from Rodgers and Hammerstein or something like Carnival. Classice is what you want. How high do you sing. If you have like high D's whip them out because there's a D in that role. Unless of course they bring it down for you. They did in the revival.

I don't believe so. Because I remember people on here saying "Wow, she sang the coloratura how it should be sung!" when they saw Hope Wills.

I loved this show, I wished it had toured, but I guess it was not very commercial without a big name as the over-the-title star. They should've gotten seamless Murphy to tour with the show.

i think both jennifers hit all the notes....i just happened to find westfelt very annoying though. i dont like her voice or her acting too much....i loved hope wills though.
