read it a few days ago. I LOVE Serge Kushnier and Robb Sapp and J-Tart.
AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited (and it's really creepy that I was listening to Zanna before I saw this thread). EEEEEEEE! I love this show!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!!!
Sorry... I'm just really excited.
I just got a copy of the cast album a few days ago and I love it! The songs "I think we got love" and "Do you know what it's like?" are new favourites of mine. I can't wait.

I think it's a mistake myself. I enjoyed Zanna but, IMO, it's the kind of show that isn't going to do as well when moved to the larger venues of Broadway. It will be interesting, though, to see who is cast. If they bring back any of the originals, I'd vote for Anika.
That's awesome news! I hope Jai is cast as zanna.
Ah heck, bring back the whole original cast.

broadway does NOT mean big venues. Not every theatre is the Ford center of Gershwin.
feelings on the role of zanna: love jai to death, but would like to see j. tart take on the role(although that means hes not ave q) and plus this would free jai up to be in a certain movie-musical going into production....

broadwayguy, I'm well aware of that, having been in most of them. Did you see Zanna at the Houseman? If so, then you know that it sat less than 300. They couldn't even sell out that house, and closed early. What makes you think that Broadway would make a difference, considering there's no theatre even close to the size of the Houseman on Broadway.
I could see Zanna easily play at the helen hays theatre.
Maybe sales will be up because I know certain people (such as meand a bunch of people here) have only gotten interested in it after it closed.

jai, the helen hayes would be okay except that it's booked for an open ended run of Jackie Mason's show beginning in March.
true.....hmm

one of the things about off-broadway is that it is hard to sell out shows because budgets are lower and they don't get the kind of publicity broadway productions get.

As much as I am a supporter of new works coming to Broadway..
I think this is a mistake.
While everyone here is fanatical for it, remember..who buys the tickets? Is this show going to sell to the midwest tourists? The afternoon show ladies? Are the southeners gonna stop by?
And you know they will place it in a much larger theater than it originally played. There are no Broadway theaters that small. What we will have is another Little Shop...a small, intimate show that is made bigger and larger for no reason other than to "fit" the theater.
also says thy've dropped the dont from the title and re-worked some stuff.
I loved Zanna and Tim Acito.
I hope it is a huge success.

Why the title change? Wasn't the title a clever play on the name of that old Olivia Newton John movie, Xanadu??
