Is Jordan E. Cooper, at 27, really the youngest playwright in Broadway history?  Nov 27 2022, 09:12:34 PM

In addition to the others already mentioned, Terrence McNally was 26 when 'And Things That Go Bump in the Night' opened on Broadway.

The NYPL has a ton of photos from the original production on their site. Maybe you can find it there?

The season brochure has dates listed through April 4, but it also says at the bottom "Further performances to be announced."

Strange. Deadline says the release date is Oct 23, 2020. I wonder which one is right. (Hoping for the earlier one.)

THE INHERITANCE to play the Barrymore this fall; Sept previews/Nov. opening  Jun 6 2019, 12:53:34 PM

According to the schedule on their website, there are a lot more previews scheduled for Part 1 than for Part 2. Could it have something to do with the ending of P1? Seems strange.

Ny Times website Theatre Section  Jun 25 2018, 02:50:21 PM

I think it may just be referring to the Facebook page. The website's theater section has been around for more than 8 years, hasn't it?

ahhrealmonsters said: "Has anyone done TDF for the American Ballet Theatre @ the Met? Where have the seats been?"

I've gone three times this year and my seats have all been far side orchestra: rows G, N, and BB. Good view, as long as you don't have someone tall sitting in front of you (the orchestra section is pretty flat.)

They also have a $35 online rush, if you want to save a couple of dollars.

National Theatre Live:Yerma  Sep 11 2017, 10:09:14 AM

There was supposed to be a screening at NYU on Sept 24, but the website says "Tickets not on sale," so maybe it's been canceled? And Fandango lists one on Sept 21 at Kew Gardens Cinemas, but there's no mention of it on their site either.

Is it possible the NYC-area screenings have been canceled because they're going to be bringing the production to NY? I seem to remember there weren't any NYC screenings of the Branagh Macbeth for that reason.

Nickelodeon show jokingly disses Tony Awards  Aug 16 2017, 12:05:36 AM

I found a tweet referencing that "joke" from January 2015 (https://twitter.com/search?f=tweets&q=henrydanger%20tony%20awards&src=typd). So it looks like it was written pre-Hamilton or The Spongebob Musical, for those wondering about the timing. Still doesn't excuse Nick's continuing to rerun it. Or airing it in the first place.

Cynthia Erivo in Man Of La Mancha?  Dec 28 2016, 01:27:36 PM

There was actually a workshop of an all-female production in Toronto last month, starring Louise Pitre.

New PS Classics recording hints  Apr 29 2016, 11:20:21 PM

Could it be Jackpot? Betty Garrett was on two top sitcoms (All in the Family and Laverne & Shirley), and Flower Hujer was a ballerina. And PS Classics released Misia last year, so another Vernon Duke score might make sense.

Anyone know anything about Jackpot? I only found it by randomly looking at what Betty Garrett had done on Broadway. Here's the Wikipedia link for Jackpot, if anyone's curious.

THE CRUCIBLE Reviews  Apr 1 2016, 03:10:36 PM

ChiTheaterFan-

Yes, I just looked at shows that opened in 2016, because I was too lazy to look up everything that opened in the entire season. Maybe it's just that the spring season has been that much better than the fall.

THE CRUCIBLE Reviews  Apr 1 2016, 02:58:53 PM

Of the 10 shows that have opened on Broadway this year, it looks like only TWO have not been Critics Picks: Our Mother's Brief Affair and Blackbird. What's the point of naming a show a Critics Pick if almost everything on Broadway is one?

School of Rock Previews  Nov 17 2015, 03:28:31 PM

Re the lottery loser seats, the line forms on the opposite side of the theatre from where they have the lottery winners line up. They tell people not to line up until after the drawing is done, so last night to punish the people who had lined up during the drawing (or possibly because there were a bunch of little kids at the back of the line), the lotto monitor had the back of the line go to the box office first. My seat ended up being in the last row of the orchestra, which was a perfec

Dear Elizabeth-is it best casting of year  Oct 16 2015, 04:52:01 PM

Actually, I think it could be "people reading letters." I found this on the page about the play on Sarah Ruhl's website:

You really need nothing more than a table and two chairs for two wonderful actors who could even read the letters straight from the page rather than memorizing them. You might then use someone to read stage directions rather than projecting subtitles.

So maybe the staging will be similar to "Love Letters"?

Thanks JBroadway. I agree - very strange that there are two concerts a month apart.
