Thanks for the link. It doesn't look like Phantom will be back here for quiet a while, unfortunately : (
Phantom in L.A.
 Jul 13 2006, 06:52:39 PM
Hello everyone. I was wondering, is The Phantom of the Opera ever going to return to Los Angeles? I remember the last time it was here was back in 2003. Since then, it has not returned. I would really like to see it again, without having to travel all the way to New York. Does anyone know if it will be back soon? Thanks!

I really enjoy musicals that are sung throughout. For this reason, Andrew Lloyd Webber is one of my favorite composers.

Interesting. I've read a couple of people say that they will sing "All I Ask Of You" in their weddings. It's such a great idea. Plus it's such an appropriate song for such an occasion.

Wow. I really like both, to be honest. I like the melody to All I ask of you, but at the same time, I like how Eponine joins Marius and Cosette at the end of A heart full of love. It's pretty powerful. On the one hand, two people sing of their love, and you think it's wonderful. But then a third joins in to sing about her agony caused by unreturned love. So that song ends in both a sad and romantic note.
"All I Ask Of You" or "A Heart Full Of Love"?

Hey everybody. I don't know if anyone has posted this question yet, but I got to thinking today, and I was wondering, which love ballad do you prefer (both from megahits of the '80's): All I Ask Of You from "Phantom" or A Heart Full of Love from "Les Mis"?
Wicked

Hello. I was just wondering, what is the name of the guy in Wicked who sings "Dancing Through Life"? I listened to that song yesterday and I noticed that the person who sings that has a really nice voice. And is he also in Rent? Because in the song "Rent" there's this guy who sings very similar to him.

Wow, those are a lot of performers. Now I'm wondering, is the guy who wrote Avenue Q a latino? His name sounded like it was, but I'm not sure.

And as long as we're in the topic of Cats, I was just wondering. How long will it be until they decide to do a revival of that show?

Well, Phantom is a pretty popular show....However, I agree with what you said. I'm pretty sure they're going to keep it on until it beats Cats at least. I'm pretty sure Andrew Lloyd Webber and his fans will feel satisfied at having the top two longest running shows on Broadway history be Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals.

I was just wondering, do any of you guys know of any famous latino/hispanic performers on Broadway?
re: LES MIZ CHORUS CALL!

Hello. You said that there will be a Les Mis chorus call for kids. Could you please give me the link to that? I've been interested in Les Miserables for quite a while. I'm a first year college student, and my high school did Les Miserables School Edition this year. That's really a bummer. The director decides to do a musical I love when I leave! Anyways, I've been trying to see if there are any local theaters that will do the school edition, but I couldn't find any. I guess this concert

Yeah, you guessed right. Well, I'm 18 (will be 19 next week), so I guess I still have a while before my voice is fully developed. Thanks for the advice!

Interesting. I have another question. Is someone considered a tenor if he is able to reach those high notes with his normal chest voice? For example, my voice changes to head voice on an F, so I guess that would make me a baritone. However, I am able to reach an A and B above middle C with my head voice. Will that make me a tenor, or does that A have to be produced with my normal chest voice to be considered a tenor?

I see. I wish I was a tenor. It's so strange because the musical director at my church told me I have the capabilities of singing as a tenor. However, my beginning voice teacher told me I was a baritone. Now I don't know who to believe. I'm trying to find a third person to tell me what my singing ranges are. Hopefully I'm a tenor. The reason why I want to be a tenor is that it seems that all good male singers are tenors, and that, in general, musical theater (and classical singing, in gen

Singing Ranges

Hello, I am new here, and I am aware that many people have posted messages on this topic before, but I never really got my question answered. I was wondering, does anyone know if a tenor in classical music is different than a tenor in musical theater? I was looking up some websites, and it said that a tenor is able to sing up to an A above middle C. However, a while ago, someone posted a message asking what are good tenor songs to audition with. Another person replied, "Empty Chairs And Empt
