re: Singing with allergies?

FYI you cant OD on Vitamin C...so always having menthol free, Vitamin C cough drops with you is wonderful. I have allergies, and when it gets bad I drink A LOT of water, take hot showers to sort of "drain myself", and drink lots of tea with either honey or lemon (depending on how im feeling) to keep my throat moist. I also avoid caffiene, anything fatty, and exercise more. I also use Flonase and take Allegra (sometimes Allegra D)

My voice teacher uses this thing called a "netti pot". Do

i love it. i mean, its obviously not supposed to be the deepest thing in the world, and it does a good job @ being cheesy and corny and whatever. plus, its almost impossible not to have fun being in it. i did it last year w/ my school. chorus/sandy's us. its just a fun thing to do. not the most profound, but who cares?

Agreeing w/ kateerin, its going to be hard for anyone to play any character if you look at it a simply one type of character (ie simple, shy, outgoing, loud, whatever). And as for the journey, it's your job to make this character interesting, and so if you don't create a journey for her, then the audience will lose interest in you during the performance. basiclly, you need to create something, even if it isnt there. Have a mental subtext going along w/ all of your dialogue, and create a purpose
