Peter Friedman, specifically, was absolutely heartbreaking. The audience last night was awful though - phones going off, phones dropping, people getting up mid-scene and disruptingentire rows, etc.
I don’t think it would work in a bigger space, frankly. A huge part of what makes the pro

Next to Normal Broadway Transfer Fall 2026 Feb 20
2026, 01:49:06 PM
Jamie Parker has almost everything you can want in a Dan if it weren’t for that terrible accent. I just really don’t think that would fly for American audiences. Aaron doesn’t feel right for the role either, but I’d sooner take him if those are the two options… or just cast BDJ again and we can all agree to delusionally pretend he’s in his 40s.

Jack is gonna be huge. I wonder if the N2N transfer will find second life with Jack proving to be a box office draw and Caissie very possibly winning a Tony...

Matthew Broderick & David Cross to co-star off-Broadway in new TARTUFFE written by Lucas Hnath Dec 3
2025, 04:28:29 PM
I saw the second preview of this and thought it was a fun time. David Cross was notably having a tough time with his lines and had to call for one, but I thought the entire cast was phenomenal outside of that and the audience seemed to be eating it up. Ikechukwu Ufomadu and Amber Gray were my favorites (but I am an unapologetically biased Amber Gray fan).
This WAS one of the all-$29 early previews though, hopefully David has his lines down now that he's performing for people who pa

TWO STRANGERS (CARRY A CAKE ACROSS NEW YORK) Previews Nov 20
2025, 03:01:13 PM
My two cents:
* This could easily sleepwalk into Best New Musical, Score, and Book, but it could have very well been shut out of all those if it had come out last year. It's a fun enough time but it doesn't do much to go beyond just being a fun enough time.
* The plot, as others have mentioned, is quite similar to MHE. Where this fails and MHE succeeds is nailing the emotional turn without abandoning what made the show work in the first half. Early into act
