LuPone on McDonald May 26

EthelMae said: "Did Ms. LuPone see Ms. McDonald in Gypsy in order to make her “beautiful day” comment?I can’t believe she did because that would have made press. I have loved Ms. LuPone on stage, screen and TV for years but in this horrible climate we’re now living in, kindness would be a refreshing feeling towards others."
Pretty sure she said she's seen everything this season because she's a Tony voter.

THE LAST BIMBO OF THE APOCALYPSE May 25

Natalie Walker's stylist song is one of the best things in any show running right now. Incredible performance from her. Did not care for anything else in this though.

New Hadestown Casting May 9
2025, 08:41:34 PM
I saw the second show with Ali and Myra. I think Ali will be pretty good once he settles into the role a little more, but I enjoyed his performance nonetheless. Myra can sing the part but her acting was... rough. The rest of the cast is in great shape - Merle Dandridge has improved immeasurably since the last time I saw her and is probably my favorite Persephone since Amber Gray, Phillip Boykin is perfection as always, and Daniel Breaker has really made the role his own.

Real Women Have Curves - Broadway Apr 18
2025, 09:02:16 AM
Me and the people I saw this with were SHOCKED that Elisa was an understudy - she was fantastic. Overall, one of the best new musicals of the season and a big surprise for me.
(Whoever decided to keep RWHC as the title of this deserves a stern talking to... "Make It Work" was right there!)

THE LAST FIVE YEARS Previews Apr 2
2025, 04:37:06 PM
FYI - just came back from the matinee and there was no robot voice announcing years. There WAS a "timeline" insert in the playbill showing where each song falls in the 5 years.

Jordan Catalano said: "Will off-Broadway be charging $1000 a ticket, now?"
Article says half the tickets will either be distributed for free through TDF or available for rush/lottery for $35. Pretty cool set-up for something with star power like this. The other 50% is probably gonna be crazy though.

SMASH Previews Mar 13
2025, 11:24:34 AM
FWIW, I have never seen Smash or heard the music and I had a fun time at this. Definitely agree that the book is messy and it's pretty baffling how they handle the Chloe and Karen characters, but otherwise I thought a lot of the jokes landed, the music was great, and the last 20 minutes or so of the first act were excellent.
Brooks Ashmanskas feels like the main character here and the whole thing kind of centers around him, the writers, and the main producer. Definit

Tony Awards Race Mar 3

I wonder if Mincemeat might try and category fraud Natasha Hodgson into featured. It would take her from fighting for just a nom in Leading to being win competitive.

Tony race for Best New Musical Mar 3
2025, 12:56:00 PM
Feels like it'll be a two way race between Mincemeat in MHE to me. I personally think Dead Outlaw is going to have trouble attracting Broadway audiences and it's not gonna stand up to the two big critically loved (assuming here for Mincemeat) crowd pleasers.

All Nighter at MCC's theater space Feb 27

I absolutely loved this. The ending didn't quite land for me, but the rest was poignant and hilarious. Julia Lester is the definition of a scene stealer in this and the audience was absolutely EATING it up.
