If you can honestly look anybody in the eye and tell them that you earnestly believe Kristin Chenoweth knew who Charlie Kirk was before all of this, you're already in your ownsocial-media made psychosis. The dude was most famous for being a Jubilee commentator troll. The far right has pushed this narrative that he was much more famous and influential before he was shot, and you bought into it. You're quite literally usin

She eulogized a white supremacist on social media. If you can look at that and still shrug, the problem isn’t everyone else’s outrage, it’s your own broken moral compass. This isn’t normal, it isn’t defensible, and pretending otherwise just advertises h

I actually didn't hate the show, saw it with both KC and SRS, and I also don't think Kristin said anything "wrong." But similar to the show itself, if people are mass-misinterpreting something, it's best to get ahead of it and make your stance painfully, obviously clear. She didn't do that. Which is certainly her prerogative. I know she's not MAGA, but because she hasn't done any work to really make that clear to people, others won't. C'est l

“We wanted to examine the cost to a person and a society who value money and fame and acquisitiveness above all else, and we think it’s an important and timely subject,” he said. “If people saw the show and thought, ‘Well, they just didn’t do it well,’ fair enough. But this thought that we were somehow trying to celebrate or glorify billionaires is like saying ‘Sweeney Todd’ is glorifying cannibalism — it’s a complete misunders

Any Michael Arden show that isn't built upon the backs of a marginalized community will fail. That's his whole schtick - repackaging trauma that isn't his. He's never been a good director, but he was great at picking shows that made him seem like one.

Until now, I guess.

A lot of you guys are very clearly out of your depth when talking about race. Nuanced thinking is a learned skill, and apparently not a very intuitive one.

Love Marla, but certainly wouldn't be opposed to a Nicole Parker "guest star" (if that's what we're calling it now) situation... just putting it out there!

If the thunder from your Tony winning run in a Broadway hit can be stolen via a Facebook post... I fear we have other issues, my love.

Gasteyer was phenomenal in Mattress (and she's one of my favorite Columbia's)! I'd looove to see her Helen.

Chess in February question (Understudies)

I believe Tveit is giving the best performance of his career, but I also agree that he's the weakest link here and you'd be better off seeing Lea and Nicholas.

So 'witch' was worse, Redwood or Queen of Versailles?
 Nov 25 2025, 02:07:02 PM

I thought both were just okay, and I think Idina gave the better performance (despite sounding pretty tired when I saw her) but The Queen of Versailles is 100% the better musical. I will always enjoy Idina on stage, and love that she champions completely new musicals on Broadway, but Redwood was a bewildering watch (to put it kindly.)

Saw this tonight and loved it! Chess is a mess, but it's our mess, after all.

I have to admit, I'm not a huge fan of the new book, but mostly because a lot of the Narrator's narrating doesn't actually need to be there. There are some scenes where it's a huge plus, but there are others that are written so competently (and with great pacing) that the Narrator stopping after a song to set up the scene we're about to watch sort of crashes the momentum for me. Hi! Could you be thinking of The Long Grift from Hedwig and the Angry Inch? Different key and tempo, but after thinking about your post for a bit and listening back to back, felt like it could be the answer. Let us know when you do figure it out!! So curious.
