Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 4/13/25
 Apr 17 2025, 09:57:00 AM

With cancelled performances, mixed reviews and NO substantial box office bump to support its near $850,000 weekly nut, Boop! will hang on for Tony noms and then most likely post a closing notice. Now, spare the troll comments and "they are back slurs", could not care less. This show was a long shot to begin with. yes, it is good, and the star is really good, but dated material, zero marketing power and lack of real word of mouth. Evidence is in clearly in

"On the  way into the theater genius detective! Who is obsessed now? 6th row aisle! Solid performance tonight! Usual opening night audience cheering every song. Jerry looked nervous and uncomfortable. Foster played it super

And I will post as I wish, you can pretend to block me but still read me as I am the only one that speaks the truth about this lovely but deeply flawed mish mash. Tony for Jasmine but that’s about it."

You quite literally called it "deeply flawed and dull" YESTERDAY

So wait... is the show "wonderful" or, as you said in the other thread, "deeply flawed and dull?" Seems like you can't make up your mind, so you just keep posting in an effort to garner attention. Probably best to stop posting altogether.

A show would rather have mixed reviews than brutal pans (Tammy Faye), shows have got rave reviews and closed early (Groundhog Day or Bright Star) or a show can get panned and run (The Addams Family.) The press does have the power to hold a show anymore, like they used to. People go to other sources now, such as some social media.

The Outsiders got mixed reviews, went on to get the Tony and is a sell out, which is making a fistful of dollars

Interesting analysis on the reviews… Historically, the worst thing a production could wish for is mixed reviews as it’s near impossible to  market yourself out of those. Yes, word-of-mouth is critical, however, a rave review is what you want and if you get bad reviews, then it’s pretty definitive. But mixed reviews only cost a production Millions of dollars in marketing to try to sway the public to believe the show is actually in good shape.

JudyDenmark has been here since 2008. You on the other hand 12/16/24 is very suspect. But I think a few of us know who you are already.

Although it’s not officially open yet, I would say the flop or the two flops that I have loved would be Legs Diamond or Boop!

Scott Rudin is an abuser
 Mar 30 2025, 09:44:00 AM

It will never end. People like Weinstein, Rudin and Drabinsky do not change but they surround themselves with artists and investors that look the other way, chanting; "the art, the art!" . I hope the community pickets Rudin and refuses to take his money.
