get color shots  Apr 2 2007, 02:54:01 AM
Get color digital shots.
you can always use photoshop to make them black and white if you need them later.

Usually, instead of 'musical comedy' the terms used for headshots are 'commercial' and 'legit'. 'Commercial' being your smiley, musical comedy, possible TV commercial shot. The 'legit' shot being more serious that you could use for straight plays, films and dramas.

if you're in NYC, i can recommend a great photog to you if you want to email me.

respectfully disagree re: 802  Nov 28 2006, 12:04:55 PM
I am a member of 802 and while i understand completely the argument for the suffering of us members of 802 who aren't actor/singers and therefore can't participate in productions such as Doyle's, as far as the union itself getting shafted it's just not even remotely true. 802 makes out so much better in doyle productions than any other musical that would be produced in said theatre.

when the (mostly AEA) actor/musicians in SWEENEY joined the union of 802, like it or not- they BECAME PAY

Rave review for DLC's 'Fnishing The Hat'  Oct 4 2006, 04:40:04 PM
For those of you who are interested, this is a great review and a nice explanation of the show itself. Rumor has it DL has been asked to do her show again at a bunch of different spaces around the city, and i think she's had it filmed to make a DVD or something.

Anyway, here's a nice rave for her (and Andrew Gerle) in 'Cabaret Scenes'.

re: Donna Lynne Champlin tickets... is anyone selling?  Sep 28 2006, 10:44:59 PM
Since this is a NYMF show- NYMF has the right to hold up to 20 tickets for industry for every show including these concerts. The problem is, those 20 industry people don't show up, so the 'sold out' show ends up with empty seats anyway, which is too bad for everyone including the performers.

I saw this personally many times the past few weeks with other 'sold out' NYMF shows i attended--but, I had many friends who went to the box office before the show, got the industry tickets when the

re: Spamalot Tour Review 3/8/06  Mar 9 2006, 01:12:59 AM
Bradley Dean is not a weak singer. He may still be finding his way with the SPAMELOT score as it's early in the run, but he is absolutely NOT a 'weak singer'. I saw him go on for Brian Stokes Mitchell and the extended ovation (at least a minute long) he received for IMPOSSIBLE DREAM was more than deserved. I've also seen him in other shows and every time he's been in fantastic voice and brought down the house.
