Small consolation, perhaps, but nearly all of the material in this (and both Andy Mientus and Lauren Marcus) has been recorded on the Jonathan Larson Project album that came out several years ago.

Oh absolutely! I

Well, I'm heartbroken. I was so looking forward to seeing this on my trip in May. Rent, for all of its flaws, is a very special show to me and I think I would have really enjoyed this.

As for Off-Bway, I'm looking forward to seeing The Jonathan Larson Project.

Have fun on your trip! I assume you'll be making your obligatory visit to the Ambassador?

Bedwetter Broadway Transfer?

SeanD2 said: "Really? What are the other musicals that attempt to reduce the stigma of bedwetting? As someone who struggled with that throughout childhood and adolescence this show was one of the first times I heard it being talked about in a way that gave comfort and identification. This is as revolutionary and necessary for kids who suffer from bed wetting as shows that provide identification for LGBTQIA+ youth."

I mean... I see what you're saying - kids ne

Bedwetter Broadway Transfer?

When I asked last week, it seemed to be the consensus that the producers want to transfer it.

The Bedwetter at Arena Stage

Curious if anyone has seen this production and how it compares to the previous incarnation at the Atlantic. Reviews seem pretty positive from what I've seen - will this end up on Broadway next season?

Joe Coots has passed away

Terrible news. Alum of Kinky Boots and The Full Monty national tours, and also had roles in TV shows such as Nurse Jackie, Modern Family, and Chicago Fire.

May his memory be a blessing.

Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren to star in THE LAST FIVE YEARS Broadway Revival

Adrienne sounds great in the music video, and the video further confirms Nick's inability to sing the score.

The lip syncing in the music video is truly atrocious.

'Swept Away’ to Close on Broadway December 15

Heartbroken. I loved the show in DC and was hoping to see the Broadway production on my spring trip in a few months (although didn't have my hopes up for it to last).

It really is a tough sell. I don't think that the Avett Brothers are a recognizable enough group to sustain ticket sales, and the subject matter isn't one that tourists and families are going to be largely interested in. It's a shame, because while the book is flawed, the production as a whole really is be

Out-Of-Left-Field Dream Casting?

There are so, so many roles I'd love to see Jinkx do.

Hermes in Hadestown. Maureen in Rent. Hannigan in Annie. Lovett in Sweeney Todd. Madame Thenardier in Les Mis.

Hell, cast her as Diana in Next To Normal. That'd be out of left field, and I feel like she'd be brilliant.

Musical - A Strange Loop

Play - Stereophonic

Edit: Just remembered that A Strange Loop premiered in 2019. I still think it's better than anything this decade.

What the f**k does "music, Broadway style" mean?

I don't mind Evermore, it's a perfectly fine song, but If I Can't Love Her is miles better and it's still unfathomable to me that they replaced it. That was one I was very sorry to l

Changing Keys for Performers is So Cool

Your point about switching harmonies in Merrily reminded me that in many audition notices that I've seen for Heathers, it is noted that the 3 Heathers can switch vocal lines as needed to suit the actresses.

From Here musical about Pulse Nightclub massacre

Thanks for your insight, Jordan and FloridaBoy. It seems just as gross as I thought it was when I first read about it. I'll be happy to miss this one.

Slave Play. Not a movie. A play.

I think Slave Play is very good, but this is a ridiculous thing to say.

Spring awakening is cooked
 Jun 21 2024, 02:22:12 PM

This is a weird and bad take. If you watch Spring Awakening and don't see how it's even more relevant today than it was when it premiered, you've missed the point of the entire show.

I also don't know any parents who are cool with their 14 year olds running around and having sex.
