WATER FOR ELEPHANTS at the Imperial Theatre, Opening March '24  Feb 16 2024, 08:46:25 PM

It looks like they've only released those seats for the first month or two maybe? I'm not seeing those two front rows for sale in or past May unless they've all sold immediately. Just FYI

Lunt-Fontanne Seating Advice  May 14 2023, 01:58:39 PM

I've been weighing the idea of sitting on the far right of the theater in row G or H of the orchestra, but I've seen mixed things elsewhere online about whether I'd miss anything for sitting in this location (or the extreme edges of the theater in general). Does anybody have experience with these seats?

Monsoon Wedding at St. Ann's Warehouse Previews  May 7 2023, 04:48:45 PM

I didn't see a preview thread for this yet. Previews started last night at St. Ann's Warehouse in Brooklyn. Has anybody seen it yet?

Little Girl Blue Previews  Mar 6 2022, 12:05:23 AM

Little Girl Blue had it's first preview tonight at New World Stages, was anyone there?

Terrible Dream Casting  Feb 12 2022, 09:51:41 AM

Dwayne Johnson as Seymour in Little Shop. Anybody have any other good ones?

Merrily We Roll Along revival aiming for Broadway in 2022  Dec 5 2021, 06:48:33 PM

I saw the remount of the Friedman production in Boston and loved it. A part of me hopes they'd consider bringing back Umbers and Humbley but I also wonder whether Charley and Frank are roles that they could age out of.

ONCE UPON A ONE MORE TIME Pre-Broadway Tryout - Previews & Reviews  Dec 5 2021, 12:12:36 AM

I was also at tonight's performance and just wanted to add the perspective of someone who doesn't know Britney's music much at all. The audience did seem to love it, but the show very much felt designed for the Britney fan. For example, the integration of Britney's songs within the story seemed to get a lot of laughs, but without any knowledge of her music I felt like all of this went over my head.

I would agree that the choreography was pretty generic, same thing with

CSC’s ASSASSINS Revival - Previews  Nov 5 2021, 09:35:10 PM

For the person who asked about the gunfire, I haven't seen the show but I saw this in the digital program: "All guns used during this performance are replicas that were provided, checked, and rendered inoperable by a weapon’s specialist for the safety of our artists and audiences. All gunshot sound effects are pre-recorded."

Cirque Du Soleil shows in Las Vegas  Jan 20 2020, 02:14:05 AM
It sounds like le reve has changed, I saw it years ago. Thanks for the correction.
Cirque Du Soleil shows in Las Vegas  Jan 20 2020, 12:00:31 AM
Can't remember if this has been mentioned, but it is worth knowing that Le Reve is 75 minutes compared to the standard 90 minutes of all other vegas cirque-esque shows. I personally have found it harder to justify the vegas prices for a show that short but it is a very good show. Having seen most of the shows mentioned here, I would also add that most of these shows are great, but they are different enough that you should choose based on your own personal interests. For example, mystere is very
Secret Life of Bees - Previews  Aug 6 2019, 02:35:22 PM
I stumbled upon a LaChanze interview with her mentioning the show could be going to London before returning to the US. I'm happy to see that this show has a future!

When do single tickets for THE SIX & MOBY DICK go on sale at ART?  May 31 2019, 08:28:17 PM

I just got an email with full details on onsale dates for those still wondering. General onsale for Six is July 11, Black Light is August 8, Moby-Dick is August 29 for preview performances and October 3 for the full run, Gloria: A Life is November 21, Ocean Filibuster is January 23, Macbeth In Stride is February 13, and 1776 is January 17 for preview performances and March 26 for the full run. In the past, tickets have gone onsale at noon, so I would assume it is the same here. I'd also a

ART Boston seating  May 22 2019, 05:18:39 PM
I think OneL99 was talking about the seats that are at stage height on the far sides up front for some productions, which I could see being less ideal. I would echo that the stage on average is fairly high. However, the venue can change significantly from show to show so it really depends. As far as food goes, a couple of my favorites are The Sinclair and Boston Burger Company for something more casual.
We Live in Cairo at ART  May 17 2019, 04:17:00 PM

I saw this on Wednesday, which was the second preview. I have to echo all other thoughts I've seen that this was great. There were definitely a few minor technical issues, but those were to be expected this early in the run. I would recommend this for sure, I had a hard time finding much about this show that I didn't like.

We Live in Cairo at ART  May 14 2019, 12:55:49 AM

Was anyone at the first preview tonight? I'm excited about this one, it looks like it could be good.

Dave Malloy is going conceptual with casting the title role in Moby Dick  Mar 7 2019, 08:31:51 PM

It's co-produced by Berkeley Rep and The Public. If it's not getting its premiere in NYC it'll probably be out in California I'd imagine.

The Black Clown (ART)  Sep 5 2018, 09:46:30 PM

I just saw this tonight and I enjoyed it. It definitely felt a little like an operatic vaudeville. The imagery of the show was a serious highlight. The music and singing was also outstanding. There was a solid two maybe three minute ovation after a rendition of sometimes I feel like a motherless child for example. From the front row it was noticeable that even members of the pit were surprised by the reaction. There definitely weren't any week links in the cast and the show was at its bes

My Fair Lady Student Rush  Sep 5 2018, 03:37:48 PM

I thought I would bump this. Is anyone able to confirm whether there have been rush seats available recently?

Jagged Little Pill to Premiere at ART  May 9 2018, 10:49:35 PM

For some reason the stage seemed higher than normal for this show, not sure if I'm just imagining that or not.
