I am so happy that I got to cross another item off my theater bucket list by attending the Stratford Festival last week. We drove about 7 hours from NYC and stayed in Brantford Ontario. I chose this town because the hotel put us only an hour away from our first show the next day at 12:30pm in Stratford. Boy, that one hour ride is so pretty as it’s all farmland so you see cows, sheep and wide open fields. All an actually great intro for Anne of the Gree
I finally was able to pick up two tickets for Kyoto. They added a table in the front and Telecharge warns You may be seated directly next to actors participating in the performance. While this is a uniquely immersive experience, you will not be asked to participate.
I just tried to add Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Anne of Green Gables that I saw at the Stratford Festival (Avon Theater) in Stratford, Ontario this week. Cannot find them to add to “My Shows.”
I kind of like the interpretation that the art is giving the middle finger to the patriarchy. I have mixed feelings about it but think it will help sell tickets and for that I am happy. I liked the play but left discussing that I didn’t feel the nude scene was necessary. As a historical play, I have to appreciate that these nude consciousness raising sessions really happened though and I appreciate that Wohl is prompting us to explore how they helped (or not) the women&rsquo
TheOtherOne2: Washington is his own man as well, not for an instant trying to be Mifune, but he is miscast in Highest 2 Lowest and the movie suffers for it.
I am so happy that Buena Vista Social Club continues to do well. When I saw it (twice) at The Atlantic there were so many skeptics about it coming to Broadway. Good for them.
I am kind of surprised that no one has mentioned this movie on these boards yet. I just finished watching it (Apple TV) and boy is it bad but the opening scene of the Manhattan skyline, Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges was exciting for me especially because of Norm Lewis singing Oh, What a Beautiful Morning.
The cinematography (Matthew Libatique) was probably the best thing about this flick for this New Yorker. I also loved that the cast had many Broadway performers i
Cannot wait! I just loved this show so much. I remember going up the Barnes & Noble on E.86th Street to hear the cast perform after seeing the show twice. The store was packed and there were no seats or room left in the performance space. We just stood in an aisle of books and could hear the voices. Felt like heaven. I was so glad that I went.
The Axelrod and Bucks County productions were sublime as well. I hope Barrington does it soon. I’d see it anywhere.
I saw the matinee today and thought the acting was great but I really cannot recommend this. I probably would have left at intermission if I did not have another show this evening. So much of Act 1 is Jacob talking at you. I honestly felt like I was taken hostage and wanted out. Act two is better and the scene with Jacob and the parents was moving but as a whole, this just wasn’t for me.
I have felt all along it will land in the Bronx at the foot of the Whitestone Bridge even though that community does not want it either. He won't let $115 Million slip by.

gibsons2: The box office for this opens tomorrow at 10am. Is anyone aware of any specials on previews tickets? I don't have social media to check.
Thanks
I have not seen any preview pricing or any specials on social media. The rear side mezz is priced similar to rush at $56 which includes a $9 fee so I guess it will be $47 at the box office.

I got to see Grangeville in the Spring. A Case for the Existence of God for a second time this summer in Chester, MA. So grateful that I have my tickets for Little Bear Ridge Road for October. I am very happy that Samuel Hunter is making his Broadway debut. I could easily see one of his plays every season and be quite content.
I am scheduled for the end of the run. There are good reports so far on Show Score and Reddit. Many "bring tissues" warnings. Supposedly there is humor too to offset some of the heaviness.
