I'm obviously very late to the party, but I just watched the Philharmonic version of Company which has long been one of my favorite musicals. And I couldn't help but feel underwhelmed by NPH and really felt he was woefully miscast. Raul Esparza knocked my socks off when I saw him in it and the cast recording of him singing Being Alive still gives me chills. I saw it as well and thought it was quite fantastic. But it was very experimental, I think one of the more experimental things I've seen on Broadway in recent years, I think if it had been off-Broadway at a place like the Public or NYTW it would have sold out and would have been very buzzy...But, they needed a big house for the scope of the production design and set, it wouldn't have worked well without such boldness in that area. this is amazing. Pippin is one of my favorite musicals of all time, so smart and funny...can't wait for this to happen.

yes he is the most commercially successful comedian right now and he's in high demand. his handful of film roles however are not much to speak of and most of his film roles have been disasters. Say what you will but you can't dispute the fact that he's has a very commercially successful career.
