Broadway's best voices

Jun 1, 2010 — 1:49:07 AM

I have to say, Sherri Renee Scott, Mandy Gonzalez, Audra McDonald Betty Buckley, Patti Lupone & Lilias White for her work in Fela and The Life.... Gavin, James Barbour, Will Chase, Robert Spencer, John Lloyd Young, Robert Cuccioli, John Gallager Jr.

Fela will win best musical

May 9, 2010 — 3:51:52 PM

I am coming from the perspective that not only do i personally know 4 venues i worked in 2 Therefore believe me when i say...Memphis will win..... American Idiot will tour, but the road is not as excited about it as you think.... It's a hard call....

Fela will win best musical

agreed...Memphis will win...Alot of the Tony vote comes from the road, The League of Producers and Presenters... Of the 4...Memphis is the most marketable. They own a piece of Million Dollar quartet... American Idiot and Fela would not play in Denver...etc See what i mean?

Anyone see Terri White & Ruthie Henshall in Chicago last night??

May 3, 2010 — 12:36:07 AM

I saw it this afternoon. I thought Ruthie's voice sounded strained like she was losing her voice...damned weather i wouldn't be surprised. I love the show and have a friend in it, but they need some energy boosters or something. It was very low key plus only half the orchestra was full. I guess a full house makes the energy levels rise. I felt like they all were saving the energy for tonight.

Also... Why not have a concert version of "The Last 5 Years" with Sherie and Norbert? Personally I would love that....

Memphis Expected to Be Movie Musical

Apr 28, 2010 — 11:34:11 PM

I get such a kick out of those, who act so freaky, when this musical comes up... ITs no worse or better than "In the Heights" They are even... Talk about SAPPY story ITH....like that really is Washington Heights..Cartoon Characters.... Also come on people...Who really on here was alive in 1959-63? I was ....race was a HUGE topic.....you have no idea. I feel like 80% of the "theater enthusiasts" on here are not even in New York State,,,,or over 17 yo CLUELESS

Memphis Expected to Be Movie Musical

People LIKE it... I think of what i have seen so far....its the most talent on one stage,,, I really need to see American Idiot and Million Dollar Quartet.. I saw MEMPHIS with a friend who said he liked it because it did not have the "Broadway" greasy crowd pleasing crap that gets rolled up onto stage......

Outer Critics Circle nominations being announced....

Apr 26, 2010 — 9:33:17 PM

Outer Critics are usually off base.... Lets remember (although i loved Memphis and it will get nominated for Best Musical...Everyday Rapture is not a musical...sorry) These are the people who gave Chitty Chitty Bang Bang like 5 noms and Mary Poppins 12 ! Put it in perspective.. LOL

August: Osage County- Violet vs. Barbara

Apr 25, 2010 — 12:58:06 AM

What we should be judging really, is how did the entire cast present the typical family in the addiction web. Amy Morton was the classic "hero Child" The role of Ivy was the "Mascot role. and the role of Karen was the "lost child".... The role of Violet was the actual person in crisis, the mother and father (deceased), what you get from his opening monologue the state of their affairs..and you know there are huge problems. Having said that, they all play a significant role in playing together...

August: Osage County- Violet vs. Barbara

This was an obsession with me... They should have tied the two and awarded both.... The chemistry was what made the performances so great.

Audience members leaving their seats before curtain call

I am sure it was all those Christian tourists fleeing next fall so they don't have to look any longer,at their hypocrisy, in the mirror.... Tourists are so rude and do bolt from the theaters like they can't wait to get to Olive Garden or perhaps...Red Lobster!!!
