It's Official, REBECCA is Back On! To Play Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre, O

On a side note: The general manager of the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien (VBW), the producing company and theatre owner behind the Viennese original production of Rebecca, has recently admitted to the press that they are going to invest $500.000 into the Broadway production. This is going to cause some furor over here in Austria, as the VBW are heavily subsidised and owned by the city of Vienna and a potential flop of the show on Broadway could seriously hurt their financial situation.

Can anyone help me with finding a shop that sells show programmes and maybe merchandise to buyers outside the US? I live in Europea. On a recent trip to New York I have seen Young Frankenstein and Mermaid in previews and I still have to get hold of their souvenir programmes. BroadwayNewYork.com does not ship outside the US and Dewynters has unbelievably high shipping costs. Thanks for your help!

The pictured outdoor production of WEST SIDE STORY - directed by The Little Mermaid's Francesca Zambello - was produced in Bregenz, Austria in 2003. The summer festival's floating stage is usually reserved for opera, but as it is Bernstein they decided that this one particular musical might do. The stage was impressive as always at this venue, but they had a glass-like floor which made dancing quite difficult whenever it got wet from the rain.

"By the way, the German title is Der Glöckner Von Notre Dame, which translates as The Bell Ringer of Notre Dame. The title was changed because the word "Hunchback" is a terrible insult in German." In German calling someone "Buckliger" (=Hunchback) is as insulting as it is to call someone a "Hunchback". But the German transaltion of the novel has always been called "Der Glöckner von Notre Dame".

not only has EFX closed ... even the showroom has been completely redone ... and is now housing KÁ, the new show by Cirque du Soleil ...
