Was it not "Official" last time?
Without Boggess, which is different from the press release from 2 weeks ago. So I guess she is staying with Prince of Broadway.
I'm happy it all worked out in the end for the people who had lost their jobs. Is this a first for "postponed" actually being such? Usually it's a euphuism for "cancelled."
Still not a sure thing until opening night, but the previous cancellation may have seriously wounded the production. I'm really looking forward to it, but the critics will undoubtedly raise an eyebrow and Riedel will be a leech on this show.

Sorry, it's a bit dusty in here!!
The most profound response is "whatever."
This sounds like a FAIL.
Is Tam Mutu still attached?
I believe he's currently Javert in the West End, but maybe he's negotiating for an early departure.
So sad that Judy Kuhn isnt going to be coming back to bway as Danvers...but looking forward to this anyway.
Will Tam and Sierra be married by then? It'd be interesting if he comes with the show and she doesn't.
The most recent casting notice listed both I and Maxim as available (while almost all the other roles were listed as cast). Either Mutu hasn't accepted a new offer from the production yet, or he's not returning. We already know that Sierra Boggess (his real-life fiancee) is doing Prince of Broadway instead.
Considering Sierra is who probably got him the job in the first place - at least in my opinion, and then he ended up back in London days after the show was post-poned for a spring opening... I'm not sure if it ended up being a "if she's not, I'm not" situation or he just couldn't get visa/passport stuff worked out well enough (or both).
But he's replacing Hadley Fraser as Javert in London in June, and unless you're a pretty big name over there, he's more than likely going to be with the show for at least 6 months to a year.
This seems to be the most entertaining production of the season(s) thus far. I suppose they were able to lure more investors after LEAP OF FAITH got a Best Musical Tony nomination. They're now convinced anything is possible in the topsy-turvy world of Broadway.
Per the press release, "Casting for the leading roles of “I” and Maxim de Winter will be announced in the coming weeks."
I agree with above.. It seems like Tam was attached because of Sierra, who the producers/creators really wanted to star (Zambello I'm sure as well).
I would love for Hugh Panaro to star (who did a reading of it about a year ago). Brent Barrett did the role in a reading/workshop in London years ago with Sierra as well.
How could Sierra convince Zambello to cast her boyfriend?
I still will never understand what the gimmick of hiring a completely unknown West End star who is far too young for the role anyway.
I am just as glad the lead roles are up for recasting; I was never too fond of the previous selection.

Couldn't the same thing be said for Fraser? He's a West End actor who was cast in Pirate Queen. And, as far as Broadway audiences are concerned, he's an unknown. It was not like he was Colm Wilkinson coming over to do Les Miserables.
With that said, aren't there strict rules put in place for an actor who isn't part of AEA to open up a show? I know that AEA has been worried about protecting the jobs of their members which is why they have these rules in place. But, isn't one of these rules that if the person isn't a star, then the producers have to convince AEA that there isn't an American actor that can do the part? Both Mutu as well as Fraser aren't stars so I am wondering how the producers were able to get around AEA's rules.
Yeah, I would think there are plenty of guys that could do that part, and will do it. Why not save some money and go American?

The AEA rules are not as strict these days. It's simple, all one has to do is exchange... unknowns go to the West End, too. Jill Paice's only big credit had been playing Sophie in Las Vegas MAMMA MIA before she went to London to open as Laura Fairlie in WOMAN IN WHITE.
So was Tam supposed to be the exchange for Sierra having done LND over on the West End? Or was Rebecca possibly going to the West End with both of them attached?
"Jill Paice's only big credit had been playing Sophie in Las Vegas MAMMA MIA before she went to London to open as Laura Fairlie in WOMAN IN WHITE."
Jill Paice (and Angela Christian in the title role) were part of the exchange to guarantee that Maria Friedman would come over with the production.
Also Fraser in Pirate Queen, atleast in my opinion, was different because Boublil & Schonberg could be considered a draw of their own ("From the creators of Les Miserables...").
Slyvester has never had a musical on Broadway, and Michael Kunze barely had any (if any) say in Dance of the Vampires. They are unknowns.
I also think the casting of Fraser had a lot to do with his amazing tenor belt. I didn't care for the show, but his singing was some of the best I've ever heard in any musical. I immediately wanted to know who he was.
