I’ve been lucky enough to catch Natalie Charle Ellis twice (on for Leslie Kritzer in Beetlejuice and for Jen Simard in Death Becomes Her) and she’s a star!

Some would say Sherie Rene Scott returning to an NYC stage is kind of a special event as well...

I'm thrilled for this casting.

 

Does anyone know if Simard is back tonight? Looks like Natalie was still on for the matinee this afternoon. Tomorrow is the final show.

I'd love to see Ekele Ukegbu debut in this. She was sensational at the Jimmys a few years ago.

I just read this on Alexandra Billing‘s Facebook page. I’m in shock. I was just watching her “I’m Still Here” on YouTube last week. Sunset Boulevard was the last show I saw before COVID shut everything down. This is such a devastating and unbelievable loss to Chicago theatre.

Hannah left a comment on Alexandra Billing’s IG saying how excited she was for her to be joining the cast. I know that’s pretty general, but I read it as she was excited to be working with her when Nancy Opel departs.

I believe Bernadette’s witch makeup on actual Broadway wasn’t as intricate as it was for the PBS recording, making it easier and faster to run off stage and do a quick change while a body double took her place on stage with a hood up in the ugly witch garb. 

The makeup department deserves an Emmy just for the fake teeth on Michelle Williams alone.

I’ve always thought Annaleigh Ashford would make a great Sarah. Now I’m wide awake with insomnia at 3am dream casting dream shows (as one does) and I’m thinking Jennifer Simard would make an excellent Winnie. Maybe Bonnie Milligan for Mary?
