Okay, got the tickets for $66 each...discounted through Broadwaybox. From everything I've read about this play, it sounds very intriguing so I'm looking forward to it. I just hope I won't feel I really needed to be closer to experience the facial expressions, body language, etc.

No takers as yet...LOL...I know if these were for Spamalot or Wicked, they probably would have been snapped up in five minutes.

It brings to mind an interesting thought though....I wonder how many people initially wanted to see this production, but were put off by the less-than-stellar reviews from the press? It really would speak to the power of reviewers to make or break a production.

Personally, I'm still very much looking forward to seeing this production, especially give

Thank you Mr. Roxy and Mandy for your responses. I think I will definitely try to see it....does anyone know how long it is expected to run?
Decent seats for Doubt?
 Jun 19 2005, 11:27:03 AM
I'm going to be seeing Streetcar and was thinking of trying to see Doubt to make a weekend out of it. The seats available are Center Mezz Row E. I'm not familiar with the Kerr theater and wondered if these seats would be decent or not for seeing (and hearing) this show. Would appreciate everyone's input.

Glass Menagerie Closing Early
 Jun 17 2005, 10:11:51 PM
I was curious about the Glass Menagerie closing two weeks early. While the attendance has not been good, wouldn't it have been better to continue the run for those additional two weeks to recoup more of the investment? Are theaters booked for the duration of the announced run of a show or do producers have the option to close early to stop the hemorrhaging of an unsuccessful show?

re: Should Puerto Ricans only be cast as Sharks in 'West Side Story'?
 May 30 2005, 09:10:58 PM
"we had a bunch of random guys playing the Sharks, and one of them was the whitest, blondest, WASPiest guy ever. It was funny."

What would be funny is if that guy happened to be Puerto Rican. There are some Puerto Ricans, as well as other Hispanics, who are blond. The problem with stereotypes is that they overgeneralize and are often inaccurate, so perhaps it might be good to have a production of West Side Story that cast blond or light-haired Puerto-Ricans as the Sharks and dark-haired

No Tony Nom For Richardson???
 May 10 2005, 03:49:19 PM
I know Streetcar received some mixed reviews, but I'm a little shocked that Natasha Richardson did not receive a nom and that Streetcar didn't receive one for revival of a play.

Is anyone else surprised?

Yes, there is a way to have a fairly accurate idea of what the Ancient Egyptians looked like and that is know Egyptian history....actual history, not the revisionist "afrocentrist" propaganda that unfortunately is distorting the issue.

Approximately 10% of Egyptian society today is known as "Coptic". These are Egyptian Christians who have been Christian since the time of Saint Mark. Because Egypt became a predominantly Muslim society (as did most countries in the Middle East), Egyptian

Obviously you dont know what Egyptians look like. Some have blonde hair, some have blue eyes. My husband and his family are from Egypt. The picture above of the blonde-haired woman is Sally Shaheen. She was Miss Egypt in the Miss Universe Pageant. I suppose you would say she would be inaccurate to play the role?

If you want to know what Egyptian royalty looked like, Egypt had a royal family until approx. 1952. The second picture is of King Farouk's sister, Princess Fawzia, who later mar

No Madame X, I didnt. I just got one email from someone else who felt that it might be a little difficult to see from the B Row, a scene where Blanche is smoking a cigarette on the balcony.

What I didn't like about some of the reviews is that they seem to compare this production to how close (or not) it is to the movie, especially when stating how "un-Brando" Reilly is in the part. Personally this is one of the factors that makes me look forward to seeing the play to get this different perspective. One more point on this from what I've heard from people who have already attended the play, is that the rape scene seems to be clearly about "destruction" and not about "seduction" as wa

Thanks Michael for your input. The tickets are for July 2nd. They are an anniversary gift from my husband and he asked what row I preferred.

I hope you will be successful getting good seats for May 6th.

I haven't been to Studio 54 yet so I was hoping for input from those who have already seen this production as to whether up close or further back was better for this particular theater and show.

There was a recent thread where different people had various opinions about loving/hating the front row based on the actual theater but Studio 54 wasnt mentioned, so I saw no harm in my thread asking specifically about this show/theater.

Best Row For Streetcar? B or G?

Which row would be better to see Streetcar at the Roundabout Studio 54 theater? Row B or G (both center orchestra)

Thanks, appreciate your input as to view, sound, etc.
