Re: JUST IN TIME 5.0 - Nicholas Christopher

Oct 7, 2026 — 5:32:31 PM

Blue_Lotus said: "I really like Nicholas Christopher, but as some of you have expressed I'm not sure if he's going to move tickets in the way that Groff, Jordan or Morrison have."That's where I am with this, also. Both Jeremy Jordan and even in his short stints - Matthew Morrison were well known for tv roles as well as Broadway - which sells more tickets. Both neither one of these actors came close to being the ticket selling juggernaut that Jonathan Groff was (and that's why this musical rec...

Margaret Qualley and Sabrina Carpenter Join Tom Holland-Led Fred Astaire Biopic

Sep 29, 2026 — 4:34:02 PM

Qualley is a trained dancer, and Sabrina Carpenter is a Disney kid - so likely she has some training, as well. I'm not a Sabrina Carpenter fan - but this seems like pretty good casting actually. Qualley - the only thing is she's SO tall - and Astaire's sister was several inches shorter than Fred - so I have no idea how they will film the dance sequences with her and Holland - should be interesting.

Re: JUST IN TIME is going out on a Level 6 tour at $995/week. If a show this successful qualifies for Level 6, what exactly is the point of the tier system?

Sep 1, 2026 — 3:02:18 PM

I was actually curious to see this tour since I saw it last summer with Groff - if only to see how they would reimagine that set in a standard theater. But I was also hoping that Groff's original standby - Matt Magnussun would be Bobby as I've heard he's fantastic. He's been doing a lot of the promo work for the tour - but I wonder if he would take a level 6 salary - he makes more than that as a standby/swing now - so that bums me out. The show is wonderful - but this seems oddly over cautiou...

Re: Jonathan Bailey and Ariana Grande in SITPWG?

I would kind of love to see Jonathan Groff do this - he's already in London this fall doing Shakespeare - maybe he could extend his stay.

Re: Why was Bernadette Peters considered an ill fit for Gypsy?

Aug 12, 2026 — 1:56:00 PM

I saw her 6 months into the run, and I thought it was one of the most phenomenal performances I've ever seen on Broadway. No voice issues when I saw her and the best Roses Turn that I've ever seen - hands down.

yyys said: "Jake is definitely a downgrade from Luke. Maybe they can get Orville next time."I agree and I love Jake in the Scissor Sisters - but his voice just isn't a good fit for this role at all. Yes - the range can be transposed - but if you do that it loses a lot of the menace that both Evans and Curry had with their vocals. I also think Orville Peck would have been a better fit - as would Adam Lambert - to be honest. And Lambert actually lives in NYC now and would likely sell more ticke...

What a presence on stage. Luke Evans remains dynamite (the 3-second delay on that jock is the best performance of the year). The audience is e...

Broadway's Most Bankable Star?

May 6, 2026 — 5:39:26 PM

I agree with Jonathan Groff and Hugh Jackman should be added to that list. Leah Michele maybe not as much - but Chess's sales numbers drop off quite a bit when she is on a scheduled vacation day.

Just In Time 2.0 - Matthew Morrison

She deserves a reprint."I agree with you on that - she's been with the show almost 6 months and her last day is April 19th - the same day as Morrison's last day - so how and why they left her off is baffling.

Bettyboy72 said: I think what elevated this show from a Vegas revue to a zeitgeist theatrical moment was the affable Jonathan Groff. He was so vulnerable and likable that you gave over to him and trusted him. You were willing to take the journey with him and suspend disbelief. He sounds nothing like Darin but it didn’t matter. His charm and talent won you over.Speaking of trust, I do think being Groff being gay is a quality that appeals to throngs of straight woman. I think that explains some...

Matt Morrison Just in Time Tease

Feb 10, 2026 — 5:14:03 PM

Yeah - looking at the Instagram post with the Darin vibes - and the fact that Jared Schonig - Just in Time's drummer "liked" it - I would guess that yes - he will be doing Bobby Darin for a few weeks. That's a huge role to just drop in for a couple weeks - I think Groff said he was actually offstage only for about 2 minutes during the entire show. Could be interesting if he pulls it off - I would bet that he can at least do the original choreography - not so sure about Jeremy Jordan :)

Great Tony Awards Performances

Jan 23, 2026 — 4:11:09 PM

Many of my favorites have already been mentioned - but I would add the Hair revival of 2009 - I immediately purchased tickets to it after just watching them in the opening number. And The Boy from Oz was fantastic - Hugh in his gold lame pants and a mortified Sarah Jessica Parker was the best :)

The Death of the Understudy Slip

Jan 14, 2026 — 3:31:18 PM

I hate having to go to a QR code for anything in a program - but I'm old :) I will say I saw what Just in Time did this week with Matt Magnuson doing Bobby Darin during Groff's vacation and I thought it was really cool. They reprinted the programs with Matt's name above the title. Groff's picture is still on the front of the playbill - but it has actually printed accurate playbills for this week with Matt's name on it. Obviously not feasible for normal understudy and swing performances - but ...

Just in Time - Matt Morrison?

Dec 30, 2025 — 12:02:45 PM

Joe Jonas actually sounds like a better fit. I've never heard him sing standards - but if he can - it would likely be a decent choice.

Just in Time - Matt Morrison?

Dec 29, 2025 — 4:50:09 PM

I don't think Morrison has the charisma to pull off this role - and he seems too old for it as well. If we are pulling from old Glee cast lists - I think Grant Gustin would be a much better fit. Age-wise he is more appropriate, and I think he would be an interesting choice for this role. Whether he would be a big enough draw is the question. I also don't think Jeremy Jordan is a big enough draw for this role either - honestly - even though he would do well in it.

Jonathan Groff Sets 2025 Broadway Return with JUST IN TIME?

Left the theatre wondering how Erika could possibly do it better. was super surprised."When I saw the show in July - Larkin was Sandra Dee and I thought she was phenomenal. She's a fantastic swing - but I hope she gets noticed and gets a bigge...

Just In Time Seating

Aug 8, 2025 — 1:28:04 PM

I saw the show a couple of weeks ago with my mother in G219 and G221 and they were perfect seats. That's last row, in the center - closest to the main stage. Really a perfect view of everything and they were among the cheapest seats - at the time - about $150/each. There are really no bad seats in this theater - it's very small.
