Re: Paddington Cast?
I agree. Paddington is the star and will be the reason tickets sell. I heard Tony Hale is playing Mr. Curry and while I'm sure he will be funny, not sure he and his salary are necessary and I doubt he can sing very well.

She is a fantastic dancer, but beyond her acting in WSS, she isn't a very good actress. And her singing is fine but nothing special. She is not a draw and this will do poorly. Her pivot away ...
NYT: Why Are Theater Tickets So Much Cheaper in London Than New York?
Like Tag said, at the end of the day this is not a hard question and one the article doesn't even answer. Actors in London aren't paid much. Most actors on the West End have 2 or 3 jobs and wait tables on the side. Unless you are a star over there you can't make a living doing theatre.

SUNSET BLVD. Revival
Audra will win because she is giving the better performance, and even if you don't believe that, she is doing the MUCH harder role and it's so much bigger and nuanced and well-rounded than what Nicole is doing. Nicole has to sing 2 songs basically that are not that hard (Glenn Close can sing them) and moved down a key at that. Then she just stands in the middle of the stage and does essentially nothing for an hour. Whereas Audra is working her ass off for nearly three hours, actually acting, ...
