Who plays Florence's dad? I know it's a small walk-on role, but I didn't see it listed in the playbill or on Playbill.com. Does anyone know who the actor is or why they don't credit him? Do they avoid crediting him to avoid spoilers?

It sounds like he desperately wanted to be an actor but has no talent. It’s interesting how that’s the one thing money can’t buy you: acting roles. And even if connections can buy you one role or a short stunt casting cameo, it can’t buy you an acting career.

Oh, yeah. I'm rewatching Emily Skinner sing Letter from Harry's Mother on youtube and I'm realizing that Jenna is standing while playing Harry Burns. I hadn't realized that was Jenna. I also found it incredibly moving during one of the musical numbers when the women sit in chairs in a circle and most of them physically move chairs while Jenna slides her wheelchair into place.

Jenna Bainbridge, who is a wheelchair-bound actress, will perform as Nessarose in Wicked starting tonight. Can someone who sees the show tell me how they stage the Nessarose scene where she used to start walking? I'm thrilled to see this very overdue change, but I'm curious how they will rewrite the scene. I saw Jenna in Suffs. She was great, as was the rest of the cast.

How does the West Side Story world tour do the show in multiple countries where they speak languages other than English? Do they sing the show in English and display German supertitles and then use French supertitles when they move the tour to France? Do they focus on countries with a lot of English-speakers? Based on Jesse Green’s other reviews, sometimes I wonder: is that a requirement of having the job as the NY Times theater critic, be as cruel as possible because it sells more newspapers? Or is that just Jesse?

I'd say 100% go for it. If it's the day before Halloween and it's Wicked we're talking about here, I wouldn't be surprised if your son isn't the only audience member in costume.

I'm seeing Hercules on Saturday. I have a question about the Paper Mill Playhouse that some people here might know. If an actor tends to do New York theater and lives in a place from which they can get into Manhattan (5 boroughs, Westchester or Long Island suburbs if they have kids or the rent is high), and then they get cast in a production at Paper Mill, are they expected to commute to Paper Mill on their own or are they given temporary housing in New Jersey? Just curious.
