Well I think this bodes well that we will see other tracks and the full album sooner rather than later!
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
I assume they want to get - at minimum - a selection of songs out as a sampler for Tony voters. Even if it's only the title song, something showcasing Ruthie (act 2 Joanna?), Priest, Epiphany, and Worst Pies. With a good team prioritizing this, they could conceivably get the whole album out to voters before the voting period ends.
I'm surprised the organ prelude isn't included in the Ballad. I wonder if it was recorded as a separate track, or it won't be on the album at all. Anyway, sounds fantastic, can't wait to see it next week.

I’m assuming it’s a separate track. I’ll be devastated if they didn’t record it!
the ensemble sounds a little muffled to me, which frustrates me, it was crisp and clear in the theatre. but other than that... i'm obsessed. have listened 10 times already.

Came here to say the same about the ensemble. They also sound strangely clipped in the cuts between them and Josh at the end.
Maybe that's all still being worked on, and that's why the holdup. Alex Lacamoire just posted on social media about the album in a way that makes it sound like the process isn't over -- he said he was having a great time making (present tense) the album, which is pretty specifically not a "wait till you see what we've made for you" kind of thing.
