Wallace is working with Scott Rudin? Inconceivable!

Ticket prices?  Also inconceivable!!

I'll wait for rush or TDF -- Wally's not exactly a "commercial" playwright.

Great cast!  J'adore John Early.  I can't wait to see Maddie's Secret.

Times are hard. Barry Diller is producing too, not that that's good or bad. Shawn worked for Woody Allen in one of his more recent films, also.

Shawn is a man of contradictions, ranging from the bad (defending Woody Allen) to the awesome (he's a raging leftist who speaks articulately about Palestine's right to exist). Some might find his stances......................inconceivable.

He's known and worked with Scott for years, and this play was teased months ago when Scott first announced his plan to return.

Shameful.  I'm not giving that man my money, especially not for a three hour play at those prices.  You sleep with pigs, you wake up dirty.

3 hours and 25 minutes.  3 acts.  2 intermissions.

cast is doing good work considering they have little direction helping them.  wouldn't mind seeing John Early in something else.  show is static.   pacing glacial.  everyone sits in chairs and alternates monologues.  one family.  one mistress.   it unfolds.  it's repetitive.  it doesn't go anywhere really.  after first two acts you wait for something to happen.  nothing really does and any revelation, personal, emotional or nuanced; is worth the time.  A multiple, first person, point of view novel recited-on-stage.

it could be two acts. 1/3 of it could be cut with same effect. it's overlong and act 3 seems endless - many shifting and the feel of "is this over"? permeated the last hour.  The audience became smaller with each intermission.

I liked it. Basically it was a lot of Shawn’s character-types that he has written about throughout his career facing mortality, the end of their stories. Long and static and novelistic, yes. Nothing happens, not in my opinion. I agree with you about John Early. But for fans of Shawn, I would not miss it.
