Yeah, makes sense as to the professional reviews. The fact that they never had amateur reviews on reddit taken down was what was more surprising to me.

Does anyone know why the review embargo would be lasting so long after opening night?

Know the show isn’t necessarily a favorite here, but I actually really enjoyed quite a bit of the music and am excited to listen when it comes out!

Back to the Future is an interesting case. It certainly seems like the aim of the creatives was to recreate the movie on stage, but at the same time, Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis are extremely protective of the BTTF brand, and have constantly rejected and proposal to do a 4th film or reboot of the series (which would certainly be an easier and safer way to make a quick buck). The fact that they are fully on board with a musical, but won’t allow any other continuations of the franchise definit...

Going to the first preview as well. Can’t wait! Been excited for this one for a while.

Honestly still confused that they wouldn’t have pushed to get this album out sooner. No chance for the album to generate interest in the show if you release it three-four months after the show closes.

Huh, I also have a ticket to the first preview through telecharge but didn’t get any email about it being cancelled yet. I do see it’s not listed on there anymore but all other websites seem to still be listing June 30th. Hope it’s not true.

Jeez let the person be excited. Not everyone shares the same tastes. A lot of people enjoy the show immensely. Obviously it’s not for everyone, but no need to be so negative.

I tend to agree. I also try not to pass too much judgement on a score until I listen to a cast recording. There’s a lot of songs I love today, that I couldn’t have hummed/remembered the tune for when I first left the theater.

I thought the chase scene was one of the most entertaining parts of the show, and it went off without a hitch (at my performance at least). What makes you say it was a mess?
