It would never work. Never. Never. Never. Fiyaro and Elphaba didnt even have sex in the play, how the hell are they just gonna magically have a 16 year old son?

They didn't Cut I'll Cover You Reprise. It actually looks like it may turn out to be one of the bigest scenes in the movie. If I had a choise as to cut Christmas Bells or Today 4 u, id prolly rather cut Christmas bells.

Boho days is amazing 2. Just another show of Jonathan's extreem talent. I think it really adds to the soundtrack. I know the show was gonna be called "Boho das" originaly.

Cut Rent Songs-Contact and Christmas Bells

Anyone have any feeling sbout the songs that have been cut for the movie? I'm not exactly sure how to feel. I really like It's Beginning To Snow because of the harmonies and how SOndhiemian it is. I also really like Contact becase of the way Jon presented Angel's death. Though they are not essencial to the message they are still pretty important.

I absolutly ADORE tick..tick...BOOM! Jonathan's lyrics in that show are absolutly breathtaking. Come To Your Senses is my most used audition piece and 30/90 gets stuck in my head for days at a time. I end up singing "30/30 90 WHAT CAN I DOOOOOOO!" in the halls at school. I cry every time i listen to "why." I have a huge soft spot for that song.

TO those of you wondering about Suger...YES it is literally about suger. Lyrics:

She can be white,
she can be brown,

I always love whenever Maureen comes in RENT and she screams "Joanne which way to the stage!" Ifs one of my favorite moments in the play.

I stay up till 2 in the morning talking to my boyfriend/friends that are guys about one lyric in a Sondhiem play, or a melody from Gershwin. As far as im concerned, guys are way better when cultured.

hmmm...I always thought that Mark had thought Mimi was Maureen when he first saw her. Now that I think about it it doesn't make much sence.

Wow alot of ripping on RENT in this board.

I dont think theres any line in RENT that is awquard or out of place. Of course, you are intitled to your opinion. My boyfriend thinks the whole Mark sequence of "Close on Roger, his girlfriend April left a note saying 'we've got AID's, before slitting her wrists the the bathroom' is out of charecter, and i never thought of it that way. RENT is more poetic than people think and sometimes you have to look at the lyric's meanings.

She was in Alexander for like 5 minutes.

Well I think she has the body type for Mimi. And shes about the right age. The wuestion is if she can pull it off. I'm going for her. She's no Daphne Ruben Vega, thats for sure.

I would agree. The more I hear about the ideas for broadway shows, the more I choke myself and dive into my RENT soundtrack. Where is broadway going when all the shows comming out are based on childrens book's and 15 year old MGM movies?!?!
