SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS with Raul Esparza @ Lincoln Center Nov 22 2025, 03:27:08 PM
I’m enjoying it, the melodies are great, the band rocks. I like the dog eat dog world of it all, but then it turned a little sappy. It reminds me of a rock opera from the British ovation where there’s no traditional book scenes. There’s underscoring almost entirely throughout with barely any moments of reprieve or clarity. But that’s just my thoughts after act 1.

Omg they just stopped because of mic issues. I’m in the last row of the balcony and I heard okay, but not as well as it should be, so I’m glad they’re fixing it. The band rocks

I’m in the last row of the balcony right now. It’s not far at all, but once you’re accustomed to the balcony at city center, everything else is a piece of cake.

Laura Osnes Didn’t Get the Covid Shot. It Ended Her Broadway Career Nov 22 2025, 10:57:52 AM
I would say it was the timing of it all. That was truly a wretched time. Why would she get cancelled and yet you’ve got the likes of Nicole Scherzinger, Corey Cott, and other right wingers leading broadway shows?

attn mods? "Name" change/funny story Nov 22 2025, 10:06:03 AM
Binau was allowed to change her name from qolbinau to just binau. So they can definitely do it.

Covid deaths last year were lower than the flu. The flu is deadlier than COVID

Spelling Bee Off Broadway Cast Nov 21 2025, 10:00:02 PM
It won’t be because nobody’s interested. There’s no buzz, people are indifferent. It’s probably because every high school, community theater, regional theater has done it, so everyone’s seen it. I’m waiting for it to be papered along with Queens, Archduke, and Practice.

Tom Hanks to lead self-written play THIS WORLD OF TOMORROW at The Shed Nov 21 2025, 09:55:26 PM
It’s basically a rom com screen play thrown on stage. I found it to be mostly pleasant, but a little confused. The theme of live in the present seems to be contradictory with him constantly going back in time. There’s no big laughs, it certainly lacks drama, like I said, it’s a cute 80s and 90s rom com put on stage, nothing more nothing less. It is kinda like Groundhog Day and Back to the Future for sure

Couldn’t you say the same about Kelli Ohara being that ingenue type? She’s managed just fine with her career. Laura Osnes would have been cast in shows I’m sure, but she also did a lot of concerts and cabaret shows. She probably could have handled things better, but I disagree with the vitriol and cancellation that was thrown at her, needlessly. It was a divisive hyper political time and people weren’t thinking rationally.

More people die of the flu. Are you this mad at someone for not getting the flu shot? I haven’t gotten one since I think college?

Bridges of Madison County Reunion Concert Nov 21 2025, 01:29:25 PM
They now have tickets as low as 41 bucks. They are partial view seats. Paul Alexander Nolan has joined the cast as the husband?

Corey cott was someone else who should have gotten a nomination that year for Bandstand. He was the standout in that show for sure. And he’s maga, and yet he’s allowed in broadway circles but not Laura because of the vaccine? It’s crazy

I did as well during the powerful omicron variant. I wonder if Laura is looking for a Broadway comeback.

The balcony was open during the first week and I think most weekends. Thanksgiving weekend is typically slow on broadway unless you’re a big commercial thing like Wicked

RAGTIME 2025 Reviews Nov 20 2025, 03:13:37 PM
I’m completely underwhelmed by both. Ragtime is just too much of a history book to ever really be moved by it. And the jellicle ball? Hated the choreo and the little slide show and pretty much the whole concept and everything about it. They ripped out the enjoyment of the original; the choreo, the set, and the amazing makeup, hair, and costumes. I’m hoping something else comes in, what happened to those UK productions of Fiddler, Follies, Oliver, and
