re: Is Julia the standby Elphaba now? Jul 17 2006, 10:59:37 AM
Julia Murney has been having trouble in the role since she opened. In Boston she missed atleast two and half weeks worth of performances because of an illness. She is not vocally powerful and struggles to let the notes just flow. Victoria Matlock started was pretty new to the cast in Boston and was not doing that well (she had a lot of trouble reaching the higher notes) but then, as she picked up more performances she started to shine. I remember being at a matinee near the end of the

Hello! I was wondering if anyone knew anything of how well of a dancer you need to be in order to be an ensemble member in Wicked...?...do some chorus roles have small amounts of dancing? Also, to be Boq or understudy Boq do you have to be very short....I am 5'10...is this too tall ? Id anyone has a link to a character breakdown that would be helpful too! Thanks!

re: Les Mis London/US Tour Feb 26 2006, 10:20:51 PM
Hey thanks for the info! I agree...I wasn't really impressed with Joan Almadilla's Fantine...In general, though, I was blown away by the power of Randall Keith and Scott Hunt's voices..the whole show was completely magnetic! Eponine was very good and so was Marius..very great night at the theater...I couldn't help but notice your screen name..if astonishing was chosen from LW then u are amazing lol...another show and song I like!

Les Mis London/US Tour Feb 26 2006, 08:16:30 PM
Hello!! I took my parents to see Les Miserables at the Opera House in Boston the other night and it was totally amazing. I have seen the show several times, broadway and on tour but this current tour is amazing. My parents, however, saw it in London at the Palace three years ago. They loved this US production but they claim that the London's costumes, lighting, staging was a bit different in the final scene. They said there was wind blowing Fantine's and Eponines hair and everyone was

Little Women review Jan 12 2006, 11:06:29 PM
Just got back from seeing Little Women in Boston..and I must say...AMAZING production. The music to the work is brilliant..the cast outstanding! Maureen McGovern myst be complimented on her fine singer and her two show stoppers that were deffinetly show stoppers this evening. Broadway needs more classicially felt shows like Little Women...the opera house is absolutly huge...and the house was basically full...GET YOUR TICKETS TO LITTLE WOMEN...its a fine night at the ..."theater"

my hairspray review Jan 8 2006, 08:33:24 PM
well i just got back from seeing hairspray this weekend...and i must say i was pretty disapointed. First off, I must say that the last 20 times I have seen hairspray on broadway, there has been at least 5 understudy/standbys on. Is this "Broadway Divas" I smell???? Julie Halston, as much as I love her work..is absolutly bland and boring in her role...they need to get the tour penny's mom/female authority up there...she is wonderful and actually makes her lines funny..the way they are suppos

re: Shoshana leaves half way through 1st act Jan 8 2006, 08:23:28 PM
It's a shame that many of the "new rock star" broadway stars arent trained well enough to perform on broadway...all i hear now a days is shoshana like performers not being able to finish a show...there are regional performers who know how to finish shows by singing properly..

re: Cast of Mary Poppins Jan 3 2006, 11:02:39 PM
Sarah Pfisterer would be brilliant, being a broadway performer myself i think she has the right touch..the right look, the right voice......many of these "new" broadway performers can't sing classically well at all...everything is avenue q, mamma mia and all that jazz..for MARY POPPINS let's stick with the pro voices
