The Humans - Rush/Limited View Sep 21 2016, 01:23:51 PM
I am visiting NYC next month and want to catch this play. I typically like to sit fairly close to the stage in the orchestra. Is the view better at all at the Schoenfeld?? Should I opt for a seat farther back in the orchestra v. first or second row??

LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT Reviews Apr 28 2016, 01:05:54 PM
Clearly Brantley didn't like the production. With the exception of reviews from Chicago and LA, all the others have been very strong, most citing Lange as giving an incredible performance. The show is selling very well and the show and Lange have been recognized by all of the awards groups thus far. Actually, given the praise for Lange, I think she is the front runner for the Tony. I respect Brantley, I just disagree with some of his comments on this show.

Seating Question for American Psycho Apr 19 2016, 11:18:32 PM
Was just wondering if front row is too close for this show? Is the stage high? Any advantage to sitting a few rows back? This is the one show of the season I am really excited to see. Any help/advice would be appreciated!

Is the stage high for this production? My ticket is A5. I'm just wondering if I should look for a seat farther back if available.

Seating Question for the Lyceum Dec 12 2015, 01:23:14 PM
I am looking for purchase tickets for A View from the Bridge. On the night I am looking at, there are front row seats available. Is this too close for this production? Is this a low stage or is the stage so high that I will be straining to see everything?? Also, has anyone done the onstage seating? I love being very close, but not if the stage is too high. Thanks for your help.

Help on Picking Shows for this Weekend Dec 18 2014, 01:02:22 PM
I am vising NYC this weekend. I already have a ticket for the Elephant Man on Friday night, but I am looking for suggestions for Saturday Matinee and Saturday evening shows. I have narrowed my choices down to: Beautiful, Curious Incident or On the Town. I would mainly be seeing Beautiful just to catch Jessie's performance before she leaves the show. I've heard great things about Curious Incident. Any suggestions or other recommendations?

Help Needed - Seating at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre Oct 24 2014, 10:20:56 AM
Does anyone know if the stage at this theatre is high? There are front row seats available next week, but I wasn't sure if front row was too close where you can't see all the activity on stage. Please let me know...Thanks!

Thanks for the information! What is your seat number? If you think it is decent, maybe I can try to get the same seat. They told the the 2nd level was 'a little' obstructed. I am interested to hear your opinion.

Thanks for the advice. I hate to wait until I get there because it is right after opening night and I'm afraid seats will be even harder to get. For anyone that was seen the show, which seats would you recommend - the bar rail that is on the far side of the orchestra (BR-1 or BR-2) or the bar rail that is at the back of the orchestra (OB-102 or OB-201)? Or there are a couple of seats in the last row of the rear mezz all the way to the side (LL- .

I don't live in NYC so I can't go to the box office. I don't have to have table seating, I just want to decent seat without obstructed view.

This may sound like a dumb question - but how are you all getting decent tickets for this show? I am visiting NYC in a few weeks and I am trying to get a ticket for this, but all the 'table' seats are going for a donation of $2,500!! Even the front mezzanine are going for that. Is there a secret or a better way to get a good seat that is not in the last row of the rear mezz?? Any advice would be much appreciated. I am just looking for one seat.

Seating Question about the Imperial Theatre Apr 4 2014, 10:56:03 PM
I am visiting NY in a few weeks and want to catch Les Mis. On one of the nights I am looking at, there are a few front row seats available. I haven't been to the Imperial before. Is front row too close? How high is the stage? I appreciate any advice you could provide. Thanks!

New Phantom tour Nov 25 2013, 11:22:23 AM
This is a little off topic, however I saw Phantom of the Opera for the first time on Broadway this past October. I have been going to NYC for years, however there were always other shows I wanted to see, so Phantom was never high on my list. I assumed it would be playing forever and I would catch it one day. Well, I did on my last trip. I had a great seat, front row, aisle. But, I have to say I was not blown away and at times bored. I appreciated the the set, the staging, the costumes and t

Seating question about Betrayal Nov 3 2013, 07:47:01 AM
A friend of mine may be able to secure seats for this show. I know most of you hated it, but I still may want to see it. Is front row too close? I don't recall how high the stage is at the Barrymore. Thanks for your help!

Seating Question about Phantom and Mamma Mia! Oct 11 2013, 07:30:05 AM
I was there in May and saw several of the newer shows (Pippin, Kinky Boots). I just have no interest in seeing First Date. I am a little curious about Big Fish, but the feedback on this board and the reviews have made me reconsider. The same with The Snow Geese. I would love to see Betrayal, but no tickets are available.

Seating Question about Phantom and Mamma Mia! Oct 10 2013, 11:30:21 PM
I am taking a quick trip to NYC next weekend. Unfortunately, there are not many new shows I am interested in seeing. I am definitely going to see The Glass Menagerie. I thought I might check out a couple of long running shows that I have never seen before, Phantom and Mamma Mia! For both shows, there are good seats available on the nights I am there. How high is the stage for these shows? Is front row too close? I prefer to sit in the first few rows, as long as I can see the whole

Question about seating at Stephen Sondheim Theatre Apr 25 2013, 05:48:52 PM
I am purchasing a ticket to see "Trip to Bountiful" for my upcoming trip to NYC. I typically like to sit as close to the stage as possible, but I know that in some theatres, front row seating is not the best. In December, I sat in the front row at the Cort Theatre for "Grace" and the stage was so high, I literally couldn't see everything. When the actors were laying on the stage after the shooting scene, I could not see them and I am 5'11. Does anyone know if the stage at the Steph

The Trip to Bountiful First Preview Apr 23 2013, 09:04:59 PM
Does this theatre have a high stage? Is front row too close to see everything? Also, what side of the stage is Cuba and Vanessa's bedroom on? If I am facing the stage, is it on my right or left?
