Going to the first preview on Sunday. A little early for this thread, no?

I will be going May 11, right before I head home for the summer. Very excited to see the cast and play, I read it in undergrad but never have seen a production. Got in on the HIPTIX offer, rear mezzanine at the American Airlines. How is rear mezzanine there? I know it's a pretty small theater compared with some others and I'm super pumped I got that price and just to be there at all, but I am curious about the view from there, especially with such an intimate play.

In my experience there really isn't a bad seat in the house. I sat in the back of the mezz for VIOLET and had a great time. Hard to complain for $25.
I have tickets for May 7th, very excited!!

I know right? I'd stand in the back for more $ than that. So excited!

It looks like the last row of the mezz is $67 for every performance. That's a deal considering one row closer is $100 and change. I've been the AA many times, but didn't sit far back upstairs. Opinions welcome, especially for a straight play.

With the exception of VIOLET (which I sat in the partially obstructed left box for), I've sat in the exact same seat (Rear Mezz - E101 for $25) for every show I've attended there. It's a small enough theatre where no sense of intimacy is lost and you almost feel like you're part of the show (and I've see ON THE 20TH CENTURY and NOISES OFF from that seat).
I do agree that this thread is a bit premature though since previews are more or less a week away...

Anyone have an idea on a typical run time? 3 hours? Trying to make travel plans - thanks in advance!

It's one of the longest plays in the American canon. An unedited version of the script usually runs three and a half hours. That's how long the last revival was.

If they cut the musical numbers it'll be yen shorter. I'd miss Mary's haunting "Beautiful Hands" solo.

Because there are no evening performances. If you look through the show calendar, dates that have only one performance listed and in the afternoon begin at 2:00. Two-show days, meanwhile, simply have to have their matinees begin at 1:00 for sufficient break time between shows.

Why are you trying to argue with me? I was just refuting what IdinaBellFoster said. I'm not an idiot. I know how show schedules work.

Didn't feel like he was arguing to me... it seemed like he was trying to clarify in earnest.

I'm going mid May, sitting last row of the mezz, which in my opinion is a great seat for the price, I love me some Jessica Lange. Years ago, I sat front row for A Streetcar Named Desire with Jessica and Alec Baldwin.

Wow, those are beautiful playbills. They used the Roundabout black-and-white very effectively.

Just came out of the first preview. It's in incredible shape. Jessica Lange's performance is extraordinary. It's clocking close to 4 hours with intermission- but time flew by.

Can't wait to hear the reports!
Also, wanted to let everyone know that I went to the box office today to check on Rush tickets, and the box office told me that the show is selling well enough that they actually do not believe many performances will have rush tickets available to sell. I guess Roundabout does not set aside a certain number of seats specifically for rush.
They are offering a discounted code for Wednesday matinee performances. I was able to get a great seat for $67.
also, the box office told me that the expected run time for the performances is 3 hours 45 minutes.

I'm seeing it on the 20th. I am not at all familiar with the play - should I do some research or read it ahead of time? I must admit I'm not well-versed in O'Neill, and found Moon for the Misbegotten at Williamstown a challenge despite the excellent cast.

For those who went, which section would you recommend, between front side orchestra and front center mezz? Hiptix Gold has some good seats on sale!
