I really want to see a new modern musical drama of some sorts. Something moving that takes place in the now.
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofuPosted: 2/20/07 at 1:21am
West Side Story would be a good revival also.

Also, A Little Night Music needs to be revived.
And I wish A Princess Bride was still happening. I was really looking forward to this.

but blah: they're doing that with 9 to 5 so maybe it'd be too much on broadway right now...
another idea i've thrown around for a new musical would be From The Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. i think this could actually be done really well (and make a lot of money).

Or something based on an obscure or older book/movie/play/etcetera. Oh my god, we could have SYRUPhttp://www.maxbarry.com">SYRUP: THE MUSICAL and WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT?: THE THEATRICAL EXPERIENCE!
Okay, maybe not.

I also think She Loves Me could stand to come back... hell, it's been away longer than Grease.

Into the woods was just revived.
THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD would do so well today...its such a fun show.
