Dolly Eating on Stage

Aug 6, 2017 — 9:34:04 PM

Yeah, I have a friend in the cast who told me the same thing about he dumplings - they were originally using cotton candy because Bette wanted to use what Carole Channing used, but it made her blood sugar go so crazy that they had to switch to tissue paper balls that she spits into the napkin when she wipes her mouth. No idea about the other food though.

Indecent rush recently?

Indecent rush recently?

Jun 25, 2017 — 12:18:02 PM

I arrived today at 11:40am and was 12th in line. I got one of the last front row seats - parties in front of me got boxes because they wanted 2 seats together and I only needed 1. I would imagine today was a little lighter for rush because many theatre folks are going to Pride instead of a matinee. I would imagine that since they have to sell the remaining shows from scratch as of last Thursday, rush should be fairly easy in the coming weeks but that is only speculation.

Hello Dolly Donna Murphy Rush

Jun 24, 2017 — 11:20:12 AM

I got SRO today. I got there at about 6:25 and was 8th or 9th in line. I could only go to the evening show and I did the math and even if everyone in front of me got 2 tix for evening, I knew I would get tickets since there are also limited view seats. I think the box office said there are 18 SRO spots but he was saying so to the person at the window beside me so I may have misheard. The first person in line got there around 4am. They let us in right at 10am and the whole process was very qui...

Waitress $400 Seats

Apr 8, 2017 — 11:32:59 PM

I have done standing room for Waitress and it is a great discount and the standing room spots are excellent in terms of view and sound. When I was waiting for SRO they were also selling $79 partial view seats (though availability or price may have changed since then) until the house truly sold out and they started with standing room. It was either $30 or $40 and a great experience overall, though standing in line and then for the show was tiring

Stage Dooring

Mar 31, 2017 — 4:59:12 PM

Last night Bette Midler came out and quickly greeted and shook the hands of everyone directly up against the railing at stage door, and then waved to the crowd before getting in her car. She was very sweet and friendly to everyone.

Allowing phone images for tickets

Mar 31, 2017 — 4:55:24 PM

I work in a box office and the issue is the type of barcodes used. Barcodes created for Print At Home tickets are meant to be scanned from a paper print out. E Tickets, designed to be scanned from a phone, usually use QR codes instead of a traditional barcode, and use a different type of scanner, and are easier to scan from a screen. My theater does not allow tickets to be presented on a phone because they won't scan correctly. 95% of people show up having printed their Print At Home tix or w...

Luggage?

Mar 26, 2017 — 10:52:45 AM

There are a bunch of stand alone luggage storage places around Times Square. Most are cash only and not on the ground floor of the building and not necessarily well marked. But usually $10 or so, you get a tag that matches the one on your luggage, and it is safe. I have used several, though I don't remember the names of any, and they've all been no frills and low key in this way but safe and easy. They also all required photo ID to drop off and pick up my stuff which made it feel safer for me...

This is really disappointing, especially as rush/lottery prices are quickly approaching $50 across the board

Any codes for Great Comet in April?

Feb 13, 2017 — 1:57:37 PM

I have sat onstage and in the rear mezz. The show is incredible from any seat and I didn't feel like I was missing anything from rear mezz, but it in no way compares to the overall immersive experience of sitting onstage. It's still a great way to see the show, but if what you're looking for is the onstage experience I would not recommend rear mezz as being comparable

Great Comet Seating Thread

Dec 29, 2016 — 9:55:41 PM

Freaking myself out a bit - we have stage seats for tomorrow that I haven't seen anyone mention in this thread but are near the tables everyone is complaining about. They are the Upholstered Armchairs in section Lower Stg Right Tavern row SC seats 4 and 5. Anyone sat here or similar?

Oh, Hello RUSH

Dec 29, 2016 — 6:07:56 PM

I went by about an hour ago to check on tonight after losing a bunch of lotteries; I correctly assumed they wouldn't have any rush tix left but it was worth the 5 minutes out of my way to see. So they are least are OFFERING rush this week, though I imagine tickets are very limited.

How is the rest of the cast in this? Particularly interested in hearing about Adam Chanler-Berat's performance

Ride the cyclone MCC

Nov 23, 2016 — 11:39:36 PM

Really hoping this extends so I can catch it in late December or has a future life in NYC so that I can see it some other time I'm in the city. It sounds weird and right up my alley. Also very curious about who will replace Taylor Louderman, who has apparently left the show due to "creative differences" per her twitter https://twitter.com/taylizlou/status/801640913906843649

Can someone explain why they hold back tickets?

Hamilton producers have managed this beautifully. Also, they have reversed some sales of "reseller" seats and put them back on the ma...

Can someone explain why they hold back tickets?

Nov 10, 2016 — 10:44:08 PM

I work in ticketing at a large theater. We hold tickets back for a lot of reasons:- the production wants us to, for production comps, VIP guests, press, photographers, creative team, etc- they are seats owned by subscribers or are being held to be sold only as subscription seats- there is going to be rush, lottery, or another discount offer for particular seats- we expect many large groups to be interested in a particular show- in times of extremely high demand, box office, the website, and t...
