It honestly looks like the choreography was to just freestyle and try to look sexy, so she just keeps doing the same hip shake wiggle move over and over again because that's all she can think of to do. Being able to sing competently isn't a huge deal when you're being considered for a lead role in a Broadway show.

If you're an ensemble member, you're qualified to cast the lead in the show you're in.
