MTV remaking Rocky Horror
Posted: 7/23/08 at 11:56pm
I'm a huge RHPS fan, I play Frank N Furter in my city's shadowcast and Rocky is a major, major part of my life. If they ruin something that close to me, I'll probably never watch anything on MTV ever again.
It's that bad.
It's like remaking The Wizard of Oz...you just don't do it.

Throw that few Million Dollars at Hunter and Jeffy and say
"Write the Linda Carter story!"

Oh, Why.
MTV just stick to your bad reality TV and leave quality things alone

"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofuPosted: 7/24/08 at 12:22am

Argueably one of the top 10 stage to film translations (if not one of the top 5), with 95% of the original cast intact (Bostwick, Gray and Sarandon being the exceptions)
I will personally pee on anyone involved in this, in a symbolic gesture of how they are peeing on a classic.

Too terrible for words. I love "Joe's Apartment" but that was original. Why must they re-make stuff that is already still classic even before the starring performers have even passed on?
I am intrigued by some of your casting but it should be kept as a Broadway Show, not another waste of celluloid for the disenchanted.
I'm sure there is more out there that really could benefit from a little more exposure and how many Broadway Shows would we love to buy if only we could on DVD? Is this the result of an unfulfilled public that still isn't getting what we ask for? Taped version of award winning Broadway Shows?
I'd say it is hardly even a bandage for that cause since they insist on trying to re-do too much that is already done correctly instead of making Movie version of shows we don't get to see over and over again with Casts we love and adore.
When will this all end? I agree too. Gave up MTV years ago when it stopped playing great music videos. So many things start out good and go oh so bad. Well, it's the way of commercialism. Try not to choke on it too much.
