Great Comet Rush

@Yaoqian, you should look at StubHub. I just bought a ticket for Groban's last show for pretty cheap!

Jimmy Awards

In addition to Eva, I believe Stephanie Styles was a nominee in 2010 and Ryan McCartan won a year later.. English Bernhardt competed in 2014.

My Current Broadway Ratings...Please Post Yours

Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 A-Come from Away A-Sunday in the Park with George B+Oh, Hello on Broadway BGroundhog Day B-Sunset Boulevard C+Dear Evan Hansen CI absolutely loved The Great Comet. That being said, I completely understand why it might not be for everyone. Groban, Benton, Steele, Gray, and Ashford are churning out extraordinary performances. I was also a big sucker for Come from Away. The entire company is wonderful. I don’t know how well the show will age but it hits ...

DEAR EVAN HANSEN at Off-Broadway's Second Stage Theatre

Apr 2, 2016 — 11:27:40 PM

I saw tonight's show and I must confess that I'm really disappointed. I think this show has one of the most talented company's in New York but they're given so little to work with. Evan is so fleshed out but the other characters seem like caricatures and stereotypes. I have to say that I think Jennifer Laura Thompson stole the show. After Evan, I think her character is most developed. I also found the show to be way too predictable and preachy. I think the show has an incredibly powerful mess...

AMERICAN PSYCHO Previews

Apr 2, 2016 — 11:18:20 PM

I saw today's matinee and let me preface that I've never seen the movie or read the book. I watched the press videos and was so unimpressed. I got my hands on the London recording and while I initially disliked it, it has been growing on me. I got a rush ticket today and was absolutely blown away by the show. The sound was wonky. I'm not sure if it was meant to be as loud as it was but it definitely took away from the show at times. Benjamin Walker is going to get raves. He's ridiculously tal...

Does anyone happen to have a song list from the Paper Mill production? It would be greatly appreciated.

She Loves Me previews

Feb 26, 2016 — 10:19:40 AM

I saw the show last night and sat towards the back of the mezzanine. I too felt like I missed maybe the first three or four songs as a result of the sound issues. The show itself is good. I don't think it will appeal to everyone because it is quite dated but something about it still works. Laura Benanti and Jane Krakowski shine. I hope to see them recognized come awards season. Zachary Levi is quite good too. He definitely had his weaker moments but he's doing a fine job. The real star of the...

Rank the Best to Worst Shows You've Seen in 2015

Dec 27, 2015 — 4:13:41 AM

1. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time -- I caught one of Sharp's last performances and was blown away. A+2. Hamilton -- I bought a cancellation ticket for the first Friday preview and loved it. There were certainly a few moments that bored me but it definitely deserves the hype. Renee Elise Goldsberry is a revelation. A3. Little Shop of Horrors (Encores) -- What a night. So incredibly special. I'd love to see Jake Gyllenhaal return to Broadway. Ellen Greene was lovely as well. ...

King Charles III - Rush

I bought a rush ticket for the Friday evening performance at 6:45pm. No issue at all.

West End's URINETOWN Transfer

Oct 28, 2015 — 12:13:26 PM

I saw the show twice at the St James and thought Jenna Russell was brilliant. Like nasty_khakis, there was a standing ovation after Run, Freedom Run and while I enjoyed the show; I don't think it was warranted. I love Richard Fleeshman but was pretty disappointed in his performance. He was bland and if I recall correctly, he forgot the words a number of times. Normally I'd let it slide but it was pretty noticeable. Again, the show wasn't bad but it could have been much much better. Ultimately...

Hamilton Previews

Jul 29, 2015 — 8:44:06 AM

I don’t typically post on the board but I felt compelled to. I saw Hamilton on July 17 after picking up a cancellation ticket just before curtain. I was somewhat skeptical prior to seeing the show because of the hype. I really didn’t think it was possible to live up to the hype that it has been receiving. However, in my opinion, it exceeded the hype. The show flows beautifully and the entire company is putting in 110%. Lin-Manuel Miranda is obviously a highlight but Renee Elise Goldsberry and...

Stunning Trailer of Miss Saigon Revival

Jul 16, 2014 — 6:56:01 PM

I saw this production twice. I saw the very first preview and then a performance maybe two weeks after opening. I had little knowledge of the show and absolutely loved it. Eva Noblezada and Jon Jon Briones were incredible. Alistair Brammer was somewhat wooden and Tamsin Carroll, despite a lovely voice, looked awkward next to Brammer. Honestly, she looked like she should have been his mother. I didn't find it hard to follow and loved every second. The Fall of Saigon and the American Dream were...

Miss Saigon Previews in London

May 4, 2014 — 12:51:39 PM

I saw it last night. I went to the theatre maybe two hours before the performance and they had an extra ticket for roughly $110 in the stalls all the way on the left. I could see probably 90% it. Prior to last night, I had never seen Miss Saigon or really known much about it but I was blown away by what I saw. The audience LOVED it. Visually it was on another level. The helicopter scene was mindblowing. The cast was superb. Kim and the Engineer in particular were standouts. Chris was very goo...
