re: ACL Question Jun 5 2008, 12:04:17 AM
My information is that Jessica Lea Patty gave notice weeks ago. She is leaving to do 9 to 5. Last show June 22. Otherwise it would have been her.

re: A Chorus Line JLP's last performance? Jun 3 2008, 01:26:53 PM
Thanks for the info. I had heard she was at the 9 to 5 auditions. Happy for her. I agree, she would be a good choice as SJB's understudy. Hope that's it!!! I will miss her as Cassie. ACL blew that one.

What a great article. Truly speaks to what a special talent Kelli is. I saw SP two weeks ago and am eager to see it again. (Hopefully whoever sits behind me this time won't be humming quite so loudly). Thanks for the link.

Jessica Lea Patty was Demeter in the First National Tour of CATS after it closed on Broadway. More info if you Google.

re: Mario Lopez Book Tour May 16 2008, 05:42:16 PM
Met him. He was quite nice. And quite nice to look at. Looks great on stage with Jessica Lea Patty. Have seen it twice since he started and I think he is improving. It's surprising how some on this site can't seem to give him a break.

re: Is 'South Pacific' REALLY that good? May 11 2008, 11:39:56 PM
It is worth seeing over and over again. It's an execellent production. The layout of the theatre with the stage moving to present the orchestra during the overture adds to the magnificence and excitement of MY FAVORITE MUSICAL! It's a must see for anyone who wants to experience the overwhelming emotions of one of the most romantic classics ever. With it's beautiful music and romantic storyline, it's a treasure! I can't wait to see it again.

re: ACL revisited 5/4 matinee – LONG with SPOILERS May 8 2008, 10:22:29 PM
So profound WESTVILLAGE! Love the way you quoted me out of context. Times have changed. Unfortunately? or Fortunately? Hopefully the integrity of the "piece" hasn't been injured as much as you seem to think. It would be a shame to NOT bring such an ARTISTIC TREASURE to the live stage just because something isn't presented exactly as it was in the original. I also have seen the show at least 7 or 8 times. I love the show and the art itself, too much to sit anywhere in that

re: ACL revisited 5/4 matinee – LONG with SPOILERS May 7 2008, 06:34:47 PM
Wow! Somebody's bitter. As much as you observed off-stage how did you see the show? Your view on most of what you "observed" seems to be a bit biased. I saw the Sunday show the previous week and Mario was fine. As far as keeping the integrity of the storyline, that's important but not always 100% possible. Guess what!? Women are able to preserve their looks today more so than they did years ago. You can still be older and do roles portraying younger characters or be a littl

re: A Chorus Line 4/27 May 1 2008, 09:06:47 PM
I don't know where you're getting your info that all originals are leaving in July. Not what I've heard. I think you should check your sources. With that said... Saw Gypsy, South Pacific and A Chorus Line this week. Patty LaPone was in total charge. What a force on stage. Major difference between her and Bernadette. Laura sounded fine. South Pacific was definitely one I'll see again. They will be open longer than planned. I think Kelli was getting over a cold but still great.

Jessica Lee Goldyn does not cover Cassie.

re: Do you ever feel that understudies are underrated? Mar 14 2008, 06:22:52 PM
Do your creative self a favor. See a Chorus Line on Sunday. Jessica Lea Patty is not only the best Cassie, her Diana and Maggie are great performances, also.

re: Nikki Snelson (LB) could be next Cassie in ACL! Jan 23 2008, 08:24:36 AM
You must have seen JLP when she was sick. I heard she was very sick recently and almost didn't make it back on stage mid-performance. But being the trooper she is, she finished the show. No one does it as well as she does.

South Pacific Jan 22 2008, 10:33:22 PM
Heard anything about the limited revival of South Pacific? Looking for the dates.

re: A Chorus Line 1/20 Jan 22 2008, 10:22:26 PM
I agree dancingthrulife04. Everyone I know who has seen her wants to see her again. She has earned it. She has paid her dues. But more than that, she is so freaking good. Jessica Lea Patty should be the next Cassie.

re: A Chorus Line 1/20 Jan 22 2008, 07:03:54 PM
I think Jessica may be too good. She is so valuable to them because of all the parts she does so well. I was thinking the tour would be good for her. But they probably want someone that looks like Charlotte.

Anne Reinking was Cassie, long ago...... She had long dark hair like Jessica. It has a dramatic affect from the audience.

I heard she resigned in January for 6 months.

re: A Chorus Line 1/20 Jan 22 2008, 10:21:22 AM
I agree totally. She "is" Cassie at an entirely different level. And her voice is up there with the best. It amazes me that someone with that much talent is doing one show a week except when she goes on for the others. And Diana, Maggie, Sheila AND Cassie? How many are talented enough to do that?!!!!

re: Nikki Snelson (LB) could be next Cassie in ACL! Jan 15 2008, 04:36:01 PM
I thought they were heading in a direction of finding someone who is a true vocal talent. But if not, her dancing is adequate although, she can't touch Charlotte. Her acting could possibly work. Vocally, I couldn't say I would rush back to hear her sing.
