Nathan Lane floats Jack Black for a PRODUCERS revival... bonkers or brilliant?

He's been on tour with his band. I think he could handle eight shows a week.

Or they are just not that impressed. This video you posted is fine. But I'm not blown away by it.

His singing and dancing would be fine.

I question the quality of his acting mostly,

I think you're right on the money with Rannells. But despite the nod from Lane himself I don't like the suggestion of Jack Black. I think the character has a certain feigned refinement that I can't see Black pull off. However I could see Josh Gad do it. And a revival with a reunion of a pairing that took Broadway by storm is a marketing no brainer.

Plus both of them have made a name for themselves in film and TV.

OH, MARY Reviews (2026 New)

I'd love to see Rachel Bloom take on the role. I think she'd be perfect

Jonathan Bailey and Ariana Grande in SITPWG?

I just hope that the director can reign  Ariana in from her performative approach and bring forward in her real integrity to the role. I do think she can do it both vocally and authentically with the right direction. However, her performative approach to talk shows and press circuits during the Wicked press tour makes me doubtful. I just feel that someone in her circle has convinced her that more is more at the expense of her being really authentic.

Just In Time 2.0 - Matthew Morrison

I think Morrison has plenty of charisma, but maybe not as much natural charm as Groff, who kinda comes off like an adorable puppy in his interviews(this is a compliment)

I will reiterate a post above however, that's it wholly unfair to compare a performance of someone who's only had two weeks of rehearsal to someone who's curated and developed the role and project for eight years, and  had the rehearsal time and weeks of previews.

On another note I

Laura Benanti LOL

I'm surprised she hasn't been mentioned for Oh Mary!

Just In Time 2.0 - Matthew Morrison

I found the "cringe" factor of his character on Glee mostly trumped up by teen stans of the show who didn't like his character because he crossed one of their faves.

I was a part of the Glee fandom and mostly found them ridiculous and inventing and exaggerating aspects of his character.

Critics also went to town on his character because that's what they do. Some of it was fair, but some of it was just plain derision.

And like many characters on Glee he w

When an artist is reduced to asking for money to make Happy Birthday selfie videos, you know your career has somewhat taken a detour. Where did things go wrong, Matthew? Hopefully this short stint in JUST IN TIME reignites something. Truly wishing you the best, mon frere."

Judging someone for making money when times are tough and work is scarce is a wild take. It reminds me of the assholes who draggedGeoffrey Owensfor bagging groceries in between gigs. Disgusting and none of their business.

Go get em, Matthew!

Yes, the film and television industry is struggling now. It never fully recovered from the pandemic or the strikes. Also A-list actors are doing streamers and TV like never before. And Broadway has more " stars" it seems more and more every year,

It's hard to make it in the business and even harder to maintain a career.

Look up some of the actors who were leads on big tv shows in the 90's and 2000's. How many are still regularly working.

Even Groff was likely more of a household name in the last few years through his tv projects. I'm pretty sure that was a factor in getting this show up and running in the first place.

Matt Morrison Just in Time Tease

As I mentioned in the other thread after listening to a recent podcast he was on, he wasn't interested in doing a full run of a show on Broadway because of his family. So a few weeks run would probably work for him.

We will find out soon enough.

Just in Time - Matt Morrison?

Interesting on above if true.

In a recent podcast on which he was a guest(Thrivalist) he seemed pretty much against the time commitment of a Broadway show due to wanting to spend more time with his kids and family.

I think he's a great option as an alternate for Just In Time.

I'm a fan of Morrison, although I do support some of the criticisms against his over earnestness in some of his performances.I just feel bad for him a bit because he got so dragged

Going to your “family member”’s dress rehearsal and posting a review on BroadwayWorld is tacky AF."

I’m sorry, but if a production invited that many attendees to the final dress and did not give restriction, they’re confident in the work andclearlyexpect people to talk about it and build some buzz. And nycward was very positive about the production!

SOUTH PACIFIC Reunion Concert Set for December 9 at LCT

Would anyone comment who attended on Morrison’s performance?

Lea Michele as Fanny - Funny Girl

You have no proof of that.

Yes of course. Everyone who came forward lied.

The fact several people on Glee have gone out of their way to say they won’t see Lea speaks volumes about them. They don’t have contact with her so how can they know who s

Uhm Chris Colfer is a very successful writer of a series of children's books which are being made into movies. He has actually expressed little interest in an acting career since Glee ended and he started writing professionally. EDIT: Chris took his option back from 2oth Century Fox because of personnel e

You're thinking of Michelle Lee?

Universal's WICKED Film - News & Discussion Thread

Ariana Grande still looks like a teenager and does a great impression of Chenoweth( neither here or there)

Erivo does not look her age and will be covered in green makeup.

And like people have said it moves through time.

Erivo will knock it out of the park and Will quite frankly sing it better than Adele Dazeem.

Ariana has the vocal chops and has acted in a film and tv series.

Her character is not that complex. I’m sure she can pull it of

Matthew Morrison on Bay Area Cabaret, Tony Bennett, Harvey Weinstein, Darren Criss, marriage equality, a Museum of Dance & more!

Think this show is perfect for Matt.
I agree Stine  is a better fit for him.
But him and Stephen together would be incredible.

All Female Glengarry Glen Ross Revival??

The theatre company I work with which is amateur and is in Canada, on the west coast, was considering producing this play with the original gender casting in fall 2019. Is there a possibility that we won't get the performing rights if a professional production will possibly be running at the same time, even if it's a different country and coast?
