re: [TOS] student rush??

Oct 4, 2008 — 1:54:03 PM

What do you mean the [tos]ers will be there tomorrow...doesn't the show close the 12th?

[tos] lotto/on tkts?

Oct 1, 2008 — 9:49:15 PM

I know there have been topics on this before but I was wondering how [tos] lotto has been since it's announced it's closing. I'm planning on going on Sunday. Also, I'm assuming with it's grosses that it's still on TKTS? Thanks!

re: 13: The Musical - For Those Who Have Seen It...

I don't think there's anything too bad. A couple of times they say something along the lines of 'fagmo' and there are two kisses, but nothing down-right dirty. "Hey Kendra" may make you feel kind of awkward, but they will probably find it hysterical. Just go in acknowledging the fact that your students know more than you think they know, and you'll all be fine. I highly doubt it will offend anybody (unless you have any students with terminal illnesses) also, be prepared for plenty of response...

Xanadu Seating Question

Sep 21, 2008 — 2:48:23 PM

I'm determined to see this show before it closes. I don't know the structure of the theater, so I figured someone on here could help me out. Am I better off with tickets left row J orchestra, or front row mezz. I know front row mezz are pretty much always great seats, but I don't know if with Xanadu it's on of those shows where the closer, the better. Thanks EDIT: Also, does the cast normally stagedoor after sunday matinees?

Anyone who's finding the Jew jokes offensive or unrealistic has clearly never been their friends' "token Jew". It's really like that.

Hilarious Comments...

Well this was said by a friend of mine who knows nothing about theatre. Upon waiting in line for Hair: "Is this the show where John Travolta played the mom in the movie?" I was embarrassed for him.

On a totally separate note (but still having to do with Hair last night) did anyone else see those partially shirtless teenagers in line?

re: What do you think the next show to close will be?

Sep 8, 2008 — 12:35:59 AM

[TOS} (I must see it before it does) Spamalot after Clay leaves. Xanadu may hold on a bit but probably will be gone around April if they're lucky. LB (keep in mind these are purely guesstamites) And why does everyone seem to think Spring Awakening is leaving...? I don't see it as slowing down THAT much.

I Can't Believe This is... Goodbye

Sep 4, 2008 — 8:59:28 PM

I'm not a fan-girl, but I'm going to miss this show. It really is amazing. That being said, it's had a long healthy life, and it's time to close has come, just as it has for all other musicals and plays. So, Goodbye Love ... and coolkid stop your whining!

re: Casting Celebrities in musicals

I'd just like to reiterate what was said before about not judging and entire generation based on posts like these. Vanessa Anne Hudgens as Maria in WSS? That idea may give me nightmares...

re: HAIR - wait line survival guide!

ok, sorry if this is a dumb question, but how early should one get there to get tickets. I know people start lining up at like 3am, but the chances of me being able to do that are slim-to-none (my parents tend to be on the over protective side).
