There is no maybe about it. As much as I love it, moving to Broadway was the wrong choice.

i don't know, Weez. I haven't seen or heard anything about Rent closing. I think it's just a rumor you're starting to mess with people. Clearly, the next show to close is Wicked.

Sadly. Making the move to Broadway was really risky and they deserve credit for staying this long but it would've worked better as a limited engagement or something...and if it would've taken a smaller theater, it would've probably lasted longer.
AVENUE Q also can't last much longer.

Xanadu and Legally Blonde sometime in Jan.-March. I hope they make it past the holidays, but I can't see them making it through those slow months.

SPRING AWAKENING isn't going anywhere soon. So far this year it has posted a profit of more than $2 million. It paid off over year ago. It has consistently remained above its break even.
Same for AVE Q.
Read the grosses, look at the histories. These are shows with enough profits to ensure they can handle a few slow weeks.
[title of show] is in trouble, no doubt. It has never had a profitable week and does not have a reserve. The longer it runs the more money it loses.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

frontrowcentre2, I know someone in the show and Spring Awakening is not guaranteed anything at this point. They're up for review later this fall and if it doesn't go well they could close as early as January. Not that I'm hoping for that, of course. I thought the show was wonderful.

Other than [TOS], I'm starting to worry about Spamalot. It seems like they're pretty desperate to stay filling the theatre. But I might just be paranoid because it's my favourite show.

I really hope Spring Awakening doesnt close this year. I would be a little devastated. I loved TOS but it is probably next and I agree Q is going to be in question after Christy comes and goes. Xanadu and LB are also possibilities. I think if Blonde goes though, its to make room for west side story.

Spamalot should be fine for at the very least a few more months as Clay Aiken is rejoining the cast through early January.
Unless the Shuberts have a show knocking down the doors for the Lyceum [tos] might have a bit more time left. The next announced production that I can think of that doesn't have a theater yet is Vanities which is shooting for a February opening.

I was just going to say the same thing about Spamalot. I love it and don't want it to close, but I don't think they have much longer. I think they'll be closing shortly after Clay leaves.
