Strange... hopefully the post shows up this second time around!

Just got an e-mail from the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust announcing the casting of "Jersey Boy" for the national tour's Pittsburgh stop Jan. 7-Feb 1 at the Benedum Center:

The cast of "Jersey Boys" will be lead by Erik Bates (Tommy DeVito), Joseph Leo Bwarie (Frankie Valli), Josh Franklin (Bob Gaudio) and Steve Gouveia (Nick Massi) as The Four Seasons, with Jonathan Hadley and Joseph Siravo. The ensemble includes Matt Bailey, Sarah Darling, Christopher DeAngelis, Graham Fenton, John Gardiner, Buck Hujabre, Leo Huppert, Michelle Knight, Renée Marino, Brandon Matthieus, Denise Payne, Nathan Scherich, Brian Silverman, Courter Simmons, Ryan Strand and Kara Tremel.

Is Josh going on as Bob tonight in Denver? I know he was already in rehearsals in Toronto, alongside the (mostly) Canadian cast, and I was told that the final show in Toronto (Dec 6) was also going to be Andrew's final show with the tour... but that was a month ago, and I haven't heard anything else since then.

Jersey Boys tour in Toronto just wrapped up two weeks of BCEFA fundraising this past Sunday. They had cast members out in the lobby with buckets, and were selling signed playbills ($20) and signed posters ($50). I was going to buy a poster, but it wasn't signed by the current cast.

Fantastic speech at the end of the show by Andrew Rannells :) He mentioned that there was a competition going on amongst all the theatres in Toronto, and he wasn't about to lose to the cast of Dirty Dancing o

Any word on the official date Nikki Snelson and the 10 cast members are leaving? Is it still Nov 7?

It has been known, at least in the theatre community, that this would become a sitdown for a while now.

I heard rumours about the sitdown even before the show officially opened in Toronto.

Regardless, I really look forward to the Canadian cast. And if it's true, I'm happy to hear that Jeremy is staying (his wife, Jenny Lee Stern, recently took over the role of Mary Delgado).

Taylor has been on as Joey, when Courter's on as Frankie, but not as Frankie yet.

I've been posting some brief reviews of the tour over on the Toronto board: http://toronto.broadwayworld.com/board/readmessage.cfm?thread=975661

Matt Bailey was on as Tommy DeVito all of last week (Jeremy was off on vacation/getting married), and I thought he did a fantastic job. Zachary Prince hasn't been on a whole lot since arriving in Toronto due to his allergies, which is really affecting his voice. He's scheduled to do Wednesday and Saturday matiness every week, but he's only been doing one of those shows, and Courter Simmons covers the other one.

I was at the final Toronto show as well and thought the cast was just fantastic. I saw it earlier in its Toronto run, and after the show, I wished I had seen it at least once more, but oh well! The entire cast is just incredible.

I absolutely adore Kim Stengel's Carlotta.

Lucky you - you got to see Greg Mills as Phantom! I've been dying to hear his Phantom since I first heard his Raoul.

Facebook group for the Cool Cap Club has the show listed from August 21 - December 6 or 7. I remember seeing it somewhere else. I guess it's not exactly official, but I'm 99% positive that it'll at least run until then. The tour stops in Denver next from December 11 to January 3.

I'm curious - how and why do they (Mirvish and DanCap) manage to get these shows to stay in Toronto for so many months? Phantom was in Toronto for about four months last year, and JB will be in Toronto for just

I think the plan has always been to keep JB around until December, the manager said that JB has been selling so well that DanCap has just officially announced a new block of tickets for November.

DanCap seems to be going all out for this show.

The crew has been in Toronto setting up since mid-July. The cast and management will be arriving on Monday.

I spoke with one of the managers at the TCA and she said that they were getting the full set since it's a sit-down (don't know if she means it's because the show is staying in Toronto a few months, rather than just a month in other cities, or if it's an actual sit-down). She also mentioned that, from what she understands, DanCap is trying for an open-ended run...
