Edit: So since this is the thread about the JB tour that gets the most action. Decided to change the subject heading that shows up on the main board, and to keep things organized. So go ahead and post all news, reviews, questions, pics of the cast, or anything that has to do with either company of the JB tour here.

Eeee, I'm so seeing this cast's last and that cast's first!!!
One of the many blogs I've read mentioned that the Frankie is someone the 1NT cast knows well, but I can't for the life of me remember whose.
WOW!

It was Erich's blog, and he mentions that the current company's last day in the city is April 29th, but who knows for sure since they're selling tickets until May 13th. Maybe they're trying to get the 2nd company ready to start in May.

Yeah, I'm waiting for an official announcment on the dates... I'll probably end up rushing anyway. :)

Hopefully they make an official announcement soon. I'll be coming down from school that weekend and rushing on that day for sure.

I'm going to assume that I'll know about 80% of the people rushing that day. :)
Ugh... SO pissed cause I was gonna audition for this but I never saw a call on Equity... Anyone know which agency casts for Jersey Boys?? I guess I'll just have to send my resume for a replacement...
Tara Rubin casts Jersey Boys.
Kind of a confusing idea. I hope it works.

I know this is, like, tiny news, but YAY! I'm so excited!!
But they also mention spending 6 months here. Very intriguing!

If the second company is starting in Chicago in October, 6 months back from then has them starting in SF in May. If that's true, then the question is are they starting at the beginning of the month, coinciding with the changes to the preformance schedule and making the current company's last day on 4/29, or after 5/13. LizzieCurrie out of curiosity I looked at the auditions link that you posted. One thing that struck me was the line "ethnicity -any" for all the leads.
Im writing from the UK, so this is a genuine question. Is it illegal in the US to specify ethnicity for roles, even where the whole story turns on the guys being Italian Americans with mafia links?
I was at Jersey Boys last night in standing room yesterday. I noticed there were a few people standing behind the sound booth, with scripts. After the show, John Lloyd told me that they were "national tour" cast members.
I asked him whether they were the cast that was going to take over the SF cast as Christopher Kale & gang go to LA...but John wasn't sure.
Is it illegal in the US to specify ethnicity for roles, even where the whole story turns on the guys being Italian Americans with mafia links?
I don't believe it is, since Rent does it all the time, but I also don't see Jersey Boys doing any non-traditional casting anytime soon. (I hope this becomes another thread and this one doesn't get thread-jacked.)
So, the current SF cast will be in Chicago this October? Yes!

No. There are exceptions to the Discrimination laws when it comes to specific industries and jobs. They could legally require all actors to be of Italian heritage, it is called the bona fide occupational qualification (BFOQ) exception.

Chicago isn't getting the current SF cast. Chicago gets the second cast after they finish their run in SF.

Eric Gutman posted on his blog (http://theguter.blogspot.com/index.html) that Jarrod Spector, the tour's alternate Frankie Valli, had his last performance this past Wednesday.
I've never seen him in the role but have heard only great things about his performance. Now this is just me speculating but maybe he will be playing Frankie Valli in the 2nd touring company.

So will Rick be doing the Tuesday nights & Wednesday matinees through April?? And is that why Taylor's going on for him all next week?
Wait, so who's the new alternate, then?
Also, Courter Simmons is Li'l Joey Fishes/Frankie understudy on the 2NT. Lauren Marshall is playing Lorraine.
Let's just say blog searches are fun.

Unless they're going to have Chris do 8 shows a week now, I'm assuming Rick will be on for Frankie Tuesday and Wednesday matinee.

Great job on finding out who's in the 2nd tour. Keep the searches up.
